Just back from a seven day trip to the World. Our 2 year old daughter had a ball. She ran up to each and every character that my photo obsessessed wife took her to see.
So, what went well, and what didn't? I'm going to do this the military way, plusses and Deltas (no negatives, just things that need to change)
+ Maya Grill at CSR. That is a hidden gem of a restaurant
Delta - Not updating the website that Rainforest Cafe only accepts upgraded Dining Plan and Le Cellier is now a double DDP site (wasn't when I got the ADR)
+ The food at Liberty Tree Tavern. Delish, not sure if the dessert is better that that at O'Hana's going to have to compare.
Delta - The waiting area at Liberty Tree Tavern. The most frustrating Hell I've ever been in.
+ There seemed to be more Photopass Photographers this time, which made the photo crazy wife happy
Delta - We've had more issues with the Photopass system this time. Missing pictures, equipment not working right or dying, "magic" elements of photos missing. Just more problems than in the past.
+ Pinnocio's FestHaus (or whatever it is called - the place that overlooks IASW). Always pleasantly surprised by the CS places, add in the Yak and Yeti CS at AK.
Delta - Pollo Cabron or whatever it is called, the joint that replace McD's at DTD. A disorganized Charlie Foxtrot, and the food wasn't very good.
+ The new pool at the Paddock at SSR. The daughter loved it, 2 years old and I couldn't keep her off the big water slide.
Delta - The busses at SSR. Not a new complaint, this gets brought up at the owner's meeting every year. The whole new Bus system sucks.
+ The meet and greet areas for Mickey, the Fairy's and Princesses. We didn't use the FP option for the ones availaible, but those are nice options, and the cartoons in the Fairy line are a nice add, they distract the kids nicely.
Delta - No strollers in lines for M&G for so many characters. And hour line holding a 2 year old kinda sucks.
+ The queue for Pooh ride. Great idea for interactive activities.
Delta - Undersized kids no longer allowed to go through lines at Star Tours or Space Mountain. The kiddo LOVES Star Wars (like the old man), and would have loved that queue area. Plus, when you have only one kid, kills any advantage for the child swap. No difference than a FP.
+ Main St Electrical Parade, I'm so glad it's back. The kiddo loved that too, especially Elliot, which I loved of course.
and finally, the biggest Delta. . .
People, they just suck in general.
Overall, an amazing trip, my legs are still killing me. Can't wait to go back in January for the Marathon.
Miss it already.
