Just got back from the 9-14 Wonder and our daughter's wedding on Castaway Cay. It was totally, unbelieveably marvelous.
Anyone have any questions I can help answer??

First of all, we were really worried about what Isabel was going to do to our trip. DCL called me on Friday, told me we were still sailing on Sunday, but would go directly to CC on Monday instead of Tuesday. That was ok with us, as long as we got our beach wedding. Once onboard on Sun, we met with the wedding co-ordinator, Brent, to go over all the details. I had made all of the flowers, because DD (Megan) wanted silk to bring home. We used Disney's bouquet as a table decoration at the reception, and also, Megan had a glass CInderella slipper & flowers for a cake topper, so we set the Mickey & Minnie from DCL on the table also.
We went back in to the terminal at 3 p.m. for a civil ceremony, where they did traditional vows after a "Fairy Tale" reading. It was very nice. As Megan & Peter got back on the ship, they were announced as "Mr & Mrs".....they got a huge kick out of that!
Disney took all of our decorations and put them up for us at the ceremony site (Heads Up Bar...and it doesn't even seem as though you are at a bar). The morning of the wedding, while the girls got their hair done, I went up to Palo to direct the decorating there. Everything was so incredibly beautiful!
We ended up having absolutely gorgeous weather the whole time, not too hot, either.
All of our guests & the rest of the wedding party were taken by tram to Heads Up, while Megan and I and her Grandpa (who walked her down the aisle) waited in my room for Brent to come get us. He even carried her train. We rode on a decorated golf cart to the site. It was like being in a parade....people waving, saying congrats, and even a family of young boys sang "Here Comes The Bride". So cool.
The keyboardist had been playing Disney tunes, and when Megan went down the aisle, (yes, there really is one!) they played traditional music. We all sat facing out toward the ship, the water was so blue, and the sky was perfect. The Administrator of the Bahamas performed the ceremony, he is also a Baptist minister, so the ceremony was very traditional "Dearly Beloved", etc, and prayers, too. The guys wore full tuxes & Megan had a white beaded gown...the pictures are stunning.
After the ceremony, we went to Palo while the photographer took pictures of the couple all over the ship. These pictures are sooo good!! I ended up spending $600 on photos, but that includes 6 8x10's, a photo album that they put together for you, a big folio with a picture of the kids & the Ship, and 65 5x7's. Not bad, considering the prices I saw for photographers here.
We had champagne, sparkling cider & a beautiful cake at Palo. Everything served so elegantly. We were served the top of the cake at our Palo dinner later in the cruise.
Turns out, it was nice to have the wedding the 1st day, we were still able to go to CC afterwards & have fun, & then just relax and enjoy the rest of our cruise.
The price of the wedding has gone up since we booked, but even for what they charge now, I'd do it again. It was so totally beautiful, and we had a vacation, too! I can't even describe how wonderful it was. We were treated like royalty the whole time.
Priority bookings, concierge, goodies in the rooms, Megan & Peter got "Fairy Tale Weddings" robes, pins, the cake topper, a Disney wedding certificate that's really cute....I can't remember it all!
I have pictures in my computer, but I don't know how to post them. Can anyone tell me how?? I'd love to show some of them!
Any questions, I'll gladly answer also. If want want to PM me, that's okay, too.

I can host the pictures on a webpage for you. PM me or e-mail me if you'd like me to do that.

Do you have any advice for planning a CC wedding? I'm in the beginning stages of planning mine and trying to decide if CC is the way to go. There isn't a whole lot of info on the Disney cruise wedding.
Thx-

Oh my this just sounds absolutely fantastic I cannot wait to see the pictures :)

Hi there,

Your wedding sounds wonderful can't wait to see the pictures.

One question, was your co-ordinator Cathy Ingles? If so, how did you find her?

Looking forward to seeing the photographs

Yes, it was Cathy Ingle (Disney's Fairytale Weddings) that we had been working with all the way up until about a week before sailing. Then we dealt with Amy Jay(Disney Cruise Line), and onboard our private co-ordinator was Brent. They all did a spectacular job.
When we called the Fairytale Wedding number, we just got lucky and got Cathy. The number is posted on Disney's site.
Still have to figure out how to post pictures. I tried once, and I don't think I'm allowed to, or else I did it wrong.

Did you try uploading them to the DIS photo Gallery ? That's how I do it and it normally works a treat.

Also ask on th Techy Board for help they're very good.

We are getting married on November 8 aboard the Disney Magic. We are both so excited and can hardly wait. When did the conceirge and DCL wedding coordinators contact you. I haven't really worried about much of the detail because I trust Disney with everything therefore, I have only contacted Cathy about 3 times and that was when we first filled out the paperwork and sent in our money.

As for the person who asked how to get in contact with Cathy. As of right now Cathy is the only one who does the Weddings at Sea. So therefore, when you contact FTW and say you want a wedding at Castaway Cay they will automatically set you up with Cathy.

I would really love to see pictures too. We are planning on doing the largest picture package but will probably end up spending more on pictures!!!!

Angela,
Concierge didn't contact us ahead of time. We had phone calls from the onboard coordinator about a month ahead to go over details. Cathy had already booked our shore excursions a couple of days before the 60-day mark.
There is a concierge meeting in one of the lounges at approximately 12:30 on the first day. This is when you will make your hair appointments and spa, and anything else that wasn't done ahead of time. Ask Cathy when & where the meeting is exactly, and I would also be asking her if someone shouldn't be contacting you soon from the ship.....you're going to want to get the details settled. About two weeks before the sailing they will either fax or mail you your own personal itinerary that will tell you where & when to meet everyone once you are onboard. Now that I think about it, I think they e-mailed ours.
You will love and enjoy every moment of it!!!
