I must be crazy! - An October-November 2016 Solo PTR - Update 10/9 2 Weeks to Go - That's a Wrap

I'm glad I'm not the only adult looking forward to the massive candy haul from MNSSHP. Maybe you will get lucky since it is the last night and they will be extra generous with the candy distribution to get rid of it all

I'm looking forward to it possibly more than small children are. We don't do Halloween in Australia so this will only be the third time I've done it in my life (which works out as about once every ten years or so!).

Well super exciting on the party tickets, that's for sure! Now, if an Imagineer happens to be lurking and reads through your PTR, I'm sure that they are going to rearrange and open something up for you, because let's face it, this is really actually their loss not dining with someone like you! Pretty incredible on the running front - that is dedication!

Ha I like your thinking! I'm sure there are lots of imagineers scouring the boards to find who they should sprinkle pixie dust on

23 Weeks to Go

Alrighty it’s time for the last ADR day update.

But let’s go back a bit.

Ahh - that's a little too far back.

How about to the day of?

I was planning on being home from work on time, walking the dog and then settling in infront of the computer ready to do my final ADRs.

But the universe seemed to have other plans. I had an awful day at work (I had to ring lots of people and pretty much break their hearts and shatter their dreams) and to top it off I ended up in a meeting until 6:30. I then had to rush home, walk the dog and fire up the laptop with no chance to check my plans beforehand.

But I was there and logged into MDE ready to go at 7:55pm

I think this was the most stressful ADR day as it was my last chance to get some ADRs that I was hoping for.

So I went for the hardest ones first – as any good planner would do – and this time…

Well this time your pixie dust and good wishes must have paid off as I got Dining with an Imagineer!!!​

I got reservations at all the other places I wanted and the only not great time was one I’m not sure I’ll even want to use!

So this is how ADR Day 4 ended up



So where does that leave everything (you know after having 4 ADR days in two week…)

This is my current ADR list, which I am sure will change over the next 6 months but it’s a good start.






In other trip news (but non-Disney related) I booked my hotels for the San Francisco and Los Angeles part of my trip.

I’ll be staying at the Best Western Plus: The Tuscan in San Francisco – SF is an expensive place to visit but this was reasonably priced considering the location.

And for the last two nights of my trip (and when I’ll be going to Universal Studios Hollywood) I’ll be staying at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City.

And I think that’s it for now.

As you may recall I work for the Australian government and we are likely to have an election called any day now which means I have been super busy at work. But it’s also that time in WDW planning where I’m busy too – ADRs, party tickets you name it. You’d think the Prime Minister of Australia would understand that WDW should take priority but no….

Urg! Seriously Prime Minister of Australia (whose name I totally know...) what is up with that?!

I did my second 10K race this morning – didn’t quite get the time I wanted but I’m not too upset as it was raining the entire time and I was a little sore from my 12km the day before! It’s only 8 weeks away until my first half marathon so I’m running a lot lately – and the plus size is I’ve lost three pounds in the past couple of weeks which means I’m only 6.5 pounds away from the goal I set for Disney and I’ve still got almost 6 months to lose it!

That is very impressive

This was the first ADR Day where I was trying for something I really wanted but new I probably wouldn’t get – Dining with an Imagineer. And I was right – I didn’t get it.

For Dine with an Animal Specialist at Sanaa!

This sounds so cool! Can't wait to hear about it

First of all tickets for MNSSHP and MVMCP were released this week, and as others have noted in their PTRs (@BibbitybobityLu and @Elevationist) the price was a little higher than last year.

Thankfully I’d been planning for it after the prices were released for other events this year so it wasn’t too much of a shock.

I know what you mean, I was kinda planning around the $100-$120 a ticket (based on the panic on the Theme parks board!) so it was happy (as you can be parting with $85 a ticket ) that they didn't go too crazy with it!

I’m super excited because I’m going to be doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour!!!!

I got Dining with an Imagineer!!!

Someone else who spreadsheets and color codes!! People think I'm crazy, but it's such an easy and efficient way to know what is going on at a glance. Congrats on getting all your ADRs and the elusive Dine with an Imagineer!! I cannot wait to hear all about that one.

I forgot you're spending some time in California too!! Great time of year to visit. Not too hot and not too cold. Just right San Francisco is such a fun city to visit too!!!

Wow! That's a very impressive list. I'm so happy for you that you will be able to dine with an imagineer. That is very cool. This is turning out to be the trip of a lifetime. You'll have to make a full blown spreadsheet of your entire trip and plans. I'm curious about your California trip too.

Same here. However my ticket was $105 + tax - stinking Halloween!!!

I'm considering another day like you but not sure I can stomach another $100.....

I've never been to SF before - I've been to LA/Anaheim half a dozen times so I sort of know what to expect there but SF is a mystery which should be fun.
