Was the allowed 13 month lottery ever used for holidays?

I do not recall any "13 month lottery." What there was during the latter part of the 1990's was a Special Seasons Preference list that eliminated home resort advantage for the Christmas season, Dec 24 through 31. Beginning 2 years before a Christmas season, you could get on a list for reserving any room at any resort by calling MS, telling them what room and dates you wanted during that season. Then at 12 months out, MS would start calling those on the list in the order in which they got on the list for each resort and asking them to confirm they still wanted the reservation and if the answer was yes, the member got the reservation. MS would continue calling during the month until the rooms filled or the list ended. That ended in 2001 and was the last time DVC used a special seasons reservation process. DVC's claimed reason for stopping it was lack of interest in that not enough used the list. It probably also went away because it was becoming too much of a hassle for MS personal to do it.
