HELP! Need quick answers!

At the beginning, one had to be IN the park [DHS] specifically at 6AM in order to get a boarding pass for RotR on their Disney app. When did it change to 7AM and where EXACTLY does one have to be? I know you don't have to physically cross the "turnstiles", but where must you be in order for the app to work? In the DHS parking lot, near the entrance, from your WDW resort room, another park? TIA.

Anywhere in the US, as long as you have a Park Reservation for DHS for that day.
