Okay, I'm a mother of one DD. She's three and looking forward to Disney. I will be traveling to Disney next month with 3 other families and several children. We plan to be in the parks ALL DAY. I read somewhere that Disney has Child Care facilities in their parks. I was thinking about using them around her nap time (maybe 11:30 am - 1:30pm). Now, moms and dads how comfortable are you with leaving your children with strangers. If you've used their child care facilities PLEASE share your experiences (Good or Bad). Please recommend a particular one (at a particular park) Also, how much are they running a hour? Thank you in advance for your comments.:)

The child care facilities in the parks are not babysittiing centers. they are a place where families with infants and small children can get out of the sun and have a clean place to feed, change, nurse and rock their babies. You can purchase baby supplies such as diapers or baby food, but you can't leave your children there. Bet some people have tried that though.LOL

I thought I read somewhere on this forum they have kindercares for employees and if space is available people can leave children there (?) Maybe I imagined it, you never know, ha ha!

Ok, I just searched and there are lots of threads about kindercare, here is a clip from one talking about fairy godmothers vs kindercare at disney:

I have used both! Kindercare is only open business hour(7:30am- 6:00) if I am recalling correctly. FG was great and kept the kids busy and safely in your room. They were also put to bed which was a relief. Kindercare was also nice but a completely different type of atmosphere. We used the center one day to go to the parks to ride some thrill rides that the little ones couldn't.

There is a kindercare somewhere, I guess next is to find it if you want to go that route! :)

Hope this helps :D

I read about Kindercare on Deb Wills' site www.wdwig.com. The site says, "KinderCare provides daycare for the children of Disney castmembers. On weekends and some evenings they may have space to provide care for Walt Disney World guests. Call (407) 827-5437 for availability."

I am going to be in Orlando in Aug. for a bus. meeting and want to bring 2 of my kids so we can do WDW. I called the Kindercare and spoke with the director. She was very nice and told me:

Hours: 6am to 9pm
Fee: $45/child/day Exact change in cash up front
Hot meal and 2 snacks provided
Rest time for younger kids
Computer center for older kids

My DD is the type that will go happily, and my DS will go in exchange for the WDW treat (he will be happy with a PC or gameboy). It may not be such a good idea for children who have separation anxiety or shyness. This would not have been a consideration for my son at that age.

We used the Kindercare service a few years back. I guess my DDs were about 4 & 5 years old. We dropped them off in the morning and picked them up around 5:30. The facility was clean and pleasant and the daycare givers were very friendly. At the time we were staying at WL, and I remember having to drive past FW, 2 golf courses and a few turns to get there. Actually, it would have been easier to go by way of DTD. All in all, I was happy with the service! They even let me pay with a check!
