Our Day started off about 7:30, I ran down to the Boardwalk Bakery I purchased 2 donuts, 1 bagel and a macadamia nut claw for $8.75 for our breakfast. We headed to MGM about 8:30 via the new walkway it was maybe an 8 minute walk from our room. We headed for the rope for the RNR, it was 8:50 when we arrived here we noticed how very few people were standing with us. I love Dec. at Disney. At 9 we headed to the Rock(as my kids call it) and rode it 5 times with no wait, we then preceded to the Towere and rode 2 times before the line started to build a bit so off we headed to get a fastpass for the Little Mermaid, my boys secretly like this show but feel the need to whine anyway they are 8 and 10, they are far to old for a girls show or so I was informed. After gathering our FP's we head to the Great MOvie Ride, no wait. After this we start spotting characters, this is the point where mommy realizes our autoraph book is in Ga! So we stop in a shop after we watch the Little Mermaid show. We bought an autograph book and pressed penny collector thing for $15.50. We get a few autographs on our way out of MGM.

By now its around noon and the pastries have long worn off so we hop the boat to the BC for lunch at Beaches and Cream. My DH,DS1,and myself got for the chesseburger plate and DS2 has the huge wait a minute I meant HUGE hotdog plate. The boys ordered the regular plates instead of kids, the reg plates are only a dollar more and has a lor more food and the dessert with the kids plate is a cookie. We always order ice cream afterwards so its a waste to order kids emals for us. The burgers were fabulous as always and the hot dog was good. We ordered a mud slide foir dessert!! Total bill $45.11. By the way these are the best burgers Disney has to offer.

At this point we decide we should walk back to the BW and burn some of our lunch off. It is an easy nice and short walk in Dec. In the summer I would have waited for the boat!!!

We take a 2 hour nap in preporation for tonights MVMCP!!
We're up by 4:30 and decide to cancel our PS for Whispering Canyons Cafe because we are way to full from lunch. We shower and dress then head to the bus for MK. After arriving we hop the monorail to tour resorts. The Cont although I love this resort needs to do more for the holidays as does the Poly but whoa the GF. We were impressed with the holiday decorations last yaer but they really out did themselves this year. The life size gingerbread house was out of this world!

We finally head for the Mk around 7:30, the crowds waiting were huge. So we sat on a bench by the lake until 7:45 and slowly entered the MK, we first headed to Frontierland for our picture, one person was in front of us, we were ina nd out in 3 minutes!! Next stop Splash Mtn. We rode this 4 times with no wait, then on to Big Thunder Mtn rode this 2 times before the line got ridculous!!! Then onto the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Car., and the Haunted Mansion. We then walked through Fantasyland and laughed at the wait times, Its A Small World even had a line. We headed for Buzz and got on with maybe a 10 minute wait. Tommorrowland was PACKED, you could barely move!!! By now our lunch was gone and we headed for Caseys Corner, 3 grand slams and 2 fries $13.78. We then found a nice bench on the Crystal Palaces porch to watch the fireworks, GREAT view!! We then headed back to Adventureland rode a few favors and then headed to Frontierland for the Parade. My kids insisted on 2 new light toys for their collection so there went $23.00.

By now its after midnight and my DH was having that I've had enough of Disney today look on his face so we slowly made our way down main street enjoying the Disney snow.

Final thoughts on our first day in the parks.
Going to Mgm on its non ee day during off season is GREAT!!!!!

MVMCP seemed to us to be a bit more crowded this year than last, I'm very curious how many tickets they sell. My husband and I both thought out loud on more than a few occasions during this night that 20,000 tickets is a rather low estimate. We still had a great time and will do this again next year!!

We had to take the bus back to the BWV and it seemed to take forever after stopping at EVERY Epcot resort before ours!!! With screaming toddlers no less. One more little observation, we noticed alot of screaming exhausted kids during this evening, alot more than in years past. I'm not quite sure how to word this without getting flamed so here goes anyway. In years past we didn't notice such a large number of very small kids at the MVMCP after midnight this year they were everywhere and you couldn't miss them, they were very tired upset little people. I couldn't imagine keeping kids up that late, its suppose to be fun and by the looks on these little guys faces they were not having fun by this point. Just something that bugged me that I wanted to share. Sorry this turned into a novel!!!

Taking a nap before MVMCP is a great idea. I've heard several people say that there were a lot of people at the MK during MVMCP this year. Maybe they are selling more tickets.

What's the pressed penny collector thing? Is it something to hold the pressed pennies? I could really use on of those.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Angel. :)

Lisa, yes they are for the pressed pennies. They cost $6, hold 36 pressed pennies and 6 pressed quarters. We had managed to avoid these machines until Sept 99, my 27 yr old brother joined me on this trip. He had not been for 10 years, he discovered the pressed penny machines and went nuts with my kids right with him. We can now dig all of ours out from the past few trips and put them in these neat little books.
