DVC "Welcom Home" Phone Orientation

We have closed on a BWV re-sale contract. I received my letter in the mail two days ago from DVC. I have not received my activation code for the website yet. Today, I received an email asking me to schedule a time for my "Welcome Home" Phone Orientation. I have not heard of this, or seen it mentioned anywhere during my research. What is it? Is it mandatory? Will I get my activation code for the website during this phone call?

Never heard of it -- we bought in 2015 so maybe something new. When i received my DVC letter with the account number i called to get the activation code. It was very quick and simple

DVC was doing this in November when we bought directly from them (I scheduled it at the same time we signed paperwork) and it was really informative. Any lingering questions I had were answered and they even offered to make my first reservation for me! It seemed geared toward introducing us to the member website dashboard but not limited to that.

We did receive a separate email with our authorization code and instructions to set up an account on the website even though our guide had set it up when we bought. I'm an instant gratification kind of gal and I wanted to see I was a member! :magnify: Our guide also kindly ordered our membership cards and allowed us to take pictures of our digital temporary cards so we could get our discounted annual passes.

Being totally new to DVC, I thought the phone call was a really nice touch.

We just joined DVC and will be getting a phone call from them Tomorrow. My biggest thing is, What questions to ask. This is all new to us and don't even know where to start with this Orientation Phone call.
 
We bought in August, and we had this call. I was able to get all additional questions answered. The gentleman who did ours basically took stock of what info we already knew and tweaked the presentation accordingly. It was a really nice touch.
