Hi DIS friends, today's post is more of a rant, but I have no one else to vent to that understands, so I hope you'll indulge me. I want to start off by saying that deep down, I am still excited for this trip and we love Disney no matter what, but planning for this one has just seemed to go downhill. And it's not like we haven't had our fair share of planning mixe up. In 2014, it was the full roll out of FP+/discontinuation of legacy FP within days of when we went. It being my first trip I planned myself and having to completely rework plans days before we left, it was stressful
. In 2015, it was not knowing details about SW until weeks before or even having to find out day of, because we went the first day. And I assume with as much as Disney seems to be evolving over the next few years, this will be a continued trend for the time being. It's not that I'm particularly mad about any one thing. I'm certainly not one to say Disney is evil, or we're never going back or whatever. But all of the announcements just keep coming one after another and the word I keep coming back to is disappointed .
Just for comparison sake, here is a list of things that were either rumored to be happening or should have been there when we started planning our trip (this was back when we were going a week later and it was a family trip).
-Star Wars Weekends
-Flower and Garden (at least this one is still around)
-Frozen Ever After
-Rivers of Light
Add that to the nonstop barrage of announcements reagrding cut-backs in entertainment and the blind cash grab promotions and it just doesn't feel as magical as it should. None of this stuff will actually take away from our enjoyment while we are there, but it certainly puts a damper on the pre-trip excitement. I am so lucky I get to go back in January, but it does suck to be missing the new offerings by a month or so. After ROL was canceled I went back to rearrange my plans and I just kind of gave up.
Between FPs and ADRs I can't change without stalking MDE, which I don't have the time or energy to do and park closing by 9 almost every night, we have ended up at MK 6 our of 7 days. I'm actually not mad about but Joe is less than thrilled
. At this park is open much later on every night (being an adult trip we want to be able to stay out past 9 and not have DS as out only option) and there are still so many attractions and entertainment options that we haven't done it was easy to fill up the days with fun and exciting things to do.
Anyway, sorry for such a negative post, just needed to get it off my chest. Like I said deep down I know none of this matters and we're going to have an amazing time. It's still a magical place with out all that extra stuff, it's just hard to focus on the positive when there is so much bad to focus on too. With that, starting tomorrow, I will have a run down for each day. I think focusing more on what we get to do when we're down there will be just the trick to get me out of my funk
. I actually wanted to do this last week since we were one month out, but I was busy with my mom visiting and it being Connor's birthday. So three week out will have to do

Just focus it as a glorious week of adult time to invest in your marriage and the fun stuff will all be extra. That being said. I totally get where you are coming from with all of this. Here's hoping you get your Rivers of Light at least.
. That's the right attitude to have though.
. Oh well, I know we're going to have a blast regardless of this funk I'm in now.

. I did Stitch when it was Alien Encounter and Joe’s never done it, I know it’s hated, but with as much time that we will have at MK, my goal is to do every attraction over the course of the week. We also plan to see Celebrate the Magic and Wishes. The night time stuff at MK is my absolute favorite thing in all of WDW and I would literally do it every night, but when Joe found we would be at MK on three nights his response was, “We have to watch Wishes 3 times!”
? So sadly we will only be doing Wishes this first night. However if we happen to be passing around the castle during Wishes o’clock on the other nights, we would have to stop, it’s the law
. Well Ashley's law anyway. And that will be our first day at WDW. The park is open until 12, but I doubt we’ll stay out that late. It’s really hard for us, because on most night we don’t go to bed until midnight, we are just natural night owls. However, even though we are used to going to bed late and getting up early, I think that combined with the physicality of the vacation would be too much, so we are going to try and leave slightly earlier than original planned for this night.

. Joe on the other had was terrified of rides until he got to high school, and he is very prone to motion sickness. I am planning to combat this will Dramamine, but we’ll see. The thrills won’t stop there, because next we have our FP for Test Track.
. After dinner we were supposed to go to AK for ROL, but with that out of the question, we are going back to MK

.
