Don't worry kids, we'll tell Mickey you say hi- May 2016 PTR *Updated 4/28*

Sounds like a great day! I actually booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour for my solo trip in late May. I can't wait!

This should be an awesome day. I'm really jealous of you getting to do the tour.

And then dinner at Via Napoli... like I said, awesome day.
:goodvibes

I can't really help much about EPCOT EMH. The only time I've stayed for evening EMH was the week the new Test Track re-opened so that I could ride it. And that involved a pretty long line still. I don't know if it is this way in the evening or not, but there is hardly anything even open in EPCOT for morning EMH. When we went in Jan we only had the choice of Test Track, Mission Space, Spaceship Earth and the Circle of Life movie. Everything else was closed until 9.
That's I'm thinking and why I don't really want to try and ride anything. We are doing evening EMH every night they're offered so we can have the option to stay out late, I don't know guess we'll see :confused3

I've heard of those bands but don't have any experience with them myself.

Exciting, I think it going to be an awesome tour.

3 weeks from today...5/4

We'll be up early once again for RD at Hollywood Studios. The plan is to fast walk right to RnR and ride twice, because this is Joe favorite ride and then do ToT, my favorite next. I am actually starting to worry about things running in the morning. I know I have read about cuts, but Josh from WDW Magic painted a VERY grim picture of how the rides are actually running and if that is the case in May, I have a bad feeling we won't be able to ride much without a crazy wait or FP :sad2:.

There is actually a lot of this park we haven’t done, so I had no problem filling up this day with things to do, despite people’s claims that there’s nothing to do here now. The plan is to VotLM, TSMM w/FP, ST w/FP, and then Indiana Jones at 12. I feel bad because Joe has wanted to see this show and we just never the time, so I am making sure we do this. After Indiana, we’ll try and rush over to see the new Star Wars show which is at 12:30. It will be closer, but I don't have any other time to fit this in. Then we will ride ToT with our final FP. Being May the 4th:darth:, we are hoping there will be something fun going on maybe some special merch, but I’m not holding my breath on this. After all that, we will head to B&C for our lunch ADR at 1:50. We will probably be there early, which is fine because we have never been to that part of property and want to check it out. Even though we are coming for the ice cream we’ll get lunch here and then ice cream for dessert. I am thinking about the No Way Jose. Joe just had a coworker come back from WDW who did the Kitchen Sink and now he want to try it :crazy2:.

After lunch we will head back to POP to relax. I have a feeling by this point in the trip a nap will be just the thing we need.

Can’t rest for too long because we are back at MK at night for EMH. My goal is to be in the park by 6, we will again be taking the bus to get there. The plan for this night is to do all pf Fantasyland. I am really hoping to pick up another FP for this night, particularly for Peter Pan’s flight. This is the only night I plan to do this and Touring Plans has the standby line at 30 minutes for the whole night. But we should have plenty of time to hit all of the attractions we want. No plans for Wishes:sad:, but since we'll be in FL I think we can get a pretty awesome behind the castle view :ssst:. We also have a dinner ADR at BOG at 8pm. We really enjoyed our dinner here in 2014 and are looking forward to going back. I may even get an adult beverage this time around :drinking1

The plan is to stay through the entire EMH which is until 12:thumbsup2.

I also finally got the Magicbands package. This is the longest it's ever taken to get here :confused3.

Interesting thing about these Magicband, they are different. The are thinner, more flexible, and way more comfortable to wear :cheer2:. Plus look at the pretty purple

Just plan for it to be your last thing before EMH ends. the wait shouldn't be too long and the stand by queue is neat to go through.

No plans for Wishes:sad:, but since we'll be in FL I think we can get a pretty awesome behind the castle view :ssst:.
Just tell dH that you need to go potty and oh look there is a potty by Pinochio's village Haus! Finish up and then "Oh hey! Look at that 360 degree fireworks!" :rotfl2:

Yeah I noticed the difference as well.

It sounds like another great day! We always seem to find plenty to do at HS too, especially with all of the shows. I'm excited to see the new Star Wars stage show.

Yum, Beaches & Cream is on my list. I think it would be a hit with the whole family too so we may save it for a family trip. The No Way Jose is going to be my choice for dessert too. All that peanut butter and chocolate...

I've seen pictures of Wishes from Fantasyland and it's really a unique view. And I think it will be a good time to get in those rides since lots of people will be on the other side of the castle for the parade and fireworks!

I've found the Sunset Blvd attractions to be a pain the past couple of trips. I hope it isn't the case, but I've got a strong feeling you'll be lucky to do RnRC once, then go to ToT before the lines get long. I mean it wouldn't surprise me a bit if you rode RnRC once and the line is already like 45 minutes.

That should be a lot of fun! I've always been a fan of DHS. I can easily spend more than a day there on a trip and still not do all I want to do.

I am thinking about the No Way Jose
That is what I want to try!

Joe just had a coworker come back from WDW who did the Kitchen Sink and now he want to try it :crazy2:.
Hey, if you're feeling up for a challenge.

And if he can do it on his own.... :worship:

:darth: me too

Yes, definitely something I want to do with the whole family too, but I am waiting until they are a little bit older so we actually can get the kitchen sink. I can't wait for the No Way Joes though.

I've seen pictures of Wishes from Fantasyland and it's really a unique view. And I think it will be a good time to get in those rides since lots of people will be on the other side of the castle for the parade and fireworks!
That's what I'm thinking, how could he not want to stop and watch fireworks going off all around him ::yes::

This is what I am think will be the case. We had such an easy time last May it would have definitely be doable, I am just afraid things won't be as good this time around with higher crowds, and lower capacity due to budget cut.

That should be a lot of fun! I've always been a fan of DHS. I can easily spend more than a day there on a trip and still not do all I want to do.
Yeah with all the shows and stuff, there's a lot to do still.

That is what I want to try!

3 weeks from today...5/5

This is a day we finally get to sleep in.

However, our trip is more than half over at the point, so who knows if I will actually be able to do this. My body naturally just knows when I’m at Disney and it’s suddenly like I only need a few hours of sleep and am incapable of more:confused3. But for now, that’s the plan. We don’t have anywhere to be until 12 which will be really nice. I bet you’ll be surprised, but we’re going back to MK:eek:. I would have switched it since now we will be there Tuesday night, but I have a FP for FoF parade that I am unwilling to part with as of now. If the FPs really do go away for special viewing areas, this will be my last chance to do this for free and I have never seen the parade and it is important to me that I see it. So we are stuck with MK this day. We have a FP for BTMRR and Splash at 12 & 1. Then we have an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern at 1:25. We’ve never been in the park at this time of day so it will be interesting for us, we don’t know what the crowds will feel like, but we plan on doing less crowded things like HoP, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Bell between our FP’s and after lunch. We will then use our FP for FOF parade. After the parade I would like to hang around a little longer to finish up any little attractions we haven’t done yet until 5:00 when they have the flag retreat. I think that is a really awesome thing they do and I would like to see it. After that we will leave the park for the day and head back to the room to get ready for our big dinner.

Our dinner this night is at Yachstmen Steakhouse. It’s at 7:25, which will give a chance to see the Boardwalk area at night. We have been just drooling over the menu and are very excited to eat here. We plan to have a nice leisurely dinner and maybe catch Illuminations from that area after dinner. We have no other plans this night because the parks close early unless of course we want to drop $300 to go to MK.

Depending on how we feel we might go to Disney Springs. We are not big fans of DS really, to us it just a diversion to being at the park, but since that won't be an option this is a okay alternative. I do love the World of Disney, it probably my favorite store ever, but I am hoping to not buy much:rotfl:. We'll see. The stores are open until 11, so that should be plenty of time to check of WoD. I am also thinking about getting the boys those giant Mickey rice krispies at Goofy's. We would be home 2 days later, they'll still be good right? Well either way beyond the, we're sorry for going to Disney without you souvenirs:rotfl2:, we will get them some sort of edible treat as well. It would also be nice to get a drink at Jock Lindsey’s. I've looked over their menu and the drinks sound good and Joe is a big Indiana Jones, plus it's open until 12:thumbsup2.

My body naturally just knows when I’m at Disney and it’s suddenly like I only need a few hours of sleep and am incapable of more:confused3.
::yes:: I have the same problem.

Well, if you'd call that a problem. I guess I'd really rather be taking advantage of Disney time than sleeping anyway.

As far as attractions go with this plan, I think you'll be just fine. But that area right there basically going from right in front of HoP all the way over past IASW in Fantasyland always just feels packed to me during the afternoon. It will probably feel crowded as you move from one thing to another, but I don't think I'd change your plans. You should still be able to do what you want to do easily enough.

We have no other plans this night because the parks close early unless of course we want to drop $300 to go to MK.
What? I thought Joe would be all over this??? :rolleyes1

Do it!! It won't disappoint. The drinks are awesome and if he's an Indiana Jones fan, he'll love looking around and seeing some subtle nods and hidden props from the movies.

Frankly I have found that the view of the parade is significantly better from the Liberty Square area. Its also not as crowded. The 2 problems with the FP area is that the music in Town square echos off of each other making the sound track disjointed. Also We found that the performers are much more energetic in liberty square versus Town Square because they near the begining of the parade versus the end of it.

Might I suggest a compromise for your DH and plan to try to catch the parade from Liberty Square earlier in the trip and if you manage to do that switch your FPs for this day to another park that you might want to visit.

I am also thinking about getting the boys those giant Mickey rice krispies at Goofy's. We would be home 2 days later, they'll still be good right?
::yes:: The treats we got we didn't eat till 2-3 days after we got home and they were fine. Little MIss ended up forgetting about hers in the wake of easter and we just discovered it a few days ago. DH and I split it and found it was begining to get stale but was still tasty. I'd say as long as you let the boys eat them within a day or so of being home they should be more than fine.

Definitely not a problem

I agree that part of the park is so crowded :crowded:

It was actually TR that gave me the idea, I kind of forget it existed :confused3

Thanks for the feedback, I thought the area was great for MSEP, but I definitely see your point about them getting tired. I think what I will do is try and see the parade on our tour day from Frontierland and if we are successful there, then go to DHS after lunch at LTT on this day. I really appreciate your input :thanks:

:cool1:awesome it's a plan then :thumbsup2

So I just spent the last hour tweaking our plans for the trip, because Disney changed park hours and I couldn't be happier. They extended MK EMH until 1am pixiedust: and HS EMH until 12am pixiedust:pixiedust:, and they put Symphony in the Stars on the schedule pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:. Almost makes up for Rivers of Light getting canceled. Honestly I couldn't be happier, the one thing we wanted was later hours and we got that for two of our nights that it helps the most, so yeah I'm excited.

In other happy news, my mom sent us a package from the Disney store today. She got the boys the new Star Wars tsum tsums.

Which I realize has nothing to do with our trip, but being the sweet mom she is she got Joe a shirt for the trip.

This kinda fits Joe's personality perfectly :rotfl2:

And a new purse for me.

Seriously this was before I read the news about the SW fireworks and it made my whole day. I have been eyeing this pattern since it was released and was thinking about getting one as my souvenir. Plus I think this will be a great park bag. My bigger Vera hipster is a little too big for the park, but this should work much better, it even has built in slots for ids and credit cards :cool1:. Okay, on to our last full park day .

3 weeks from today...5/6

Surprise, surprise another early morning for us :rolleyes2. But this is going to be so worth it because have an ADR at Kona, my favorite breakfast. I can’t wait to have to Kona coffee and Tonga Toast.

We won’t be able to have a leisurely breakfast though because I would like to me at AK for rope drop:faint:. First thing we want to do is go on the safari. We are pretty bummed about having to miss the night one, but we didn’t want to skip it altogether. Then we’ll head to EE to hopefully ride twice before the line gets too crazy. Now here’s where I have a dilemma. We don’t have FPs, because we are saving them for the evening park. I would like to do KRR and one I don’t want to backtrack to Asia later, and I think the line will be crazy if we go later. BUT what if we get soaked, I don’t want to walk around soaked all day:confused3. Decision, decisions:worried:. It will just depend on what we feel like this day. I do plan to do the Maharajah Jungle Trek, after in case we need some time to dry. Next will head over to Dino Land to do Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl. We’ll probably end up having lunch at Restrauntosaurus. This isn’t the best option, but it’s where we’ll be and they offer TiW discount:thumbsup2. Then I want to do It’s Tough to be a Bug, which is something we can’t do with our kids, so now is the opportunity. We’ll finish out our day at AK with FoLK and the Pangani trail. This is be by far the most time we have gotten to spend at AK and I can’t wait. AK is my favorite park as far as theming goes and I am so excited to be able to spend the time to take in the details.

We’ll head straight to HS from AK. I am hoping we can be there by 4, our first FP is for RnR and we'll do that first. We'll also do ST, the new ST wars stage show and VotLM. These seem like repeats, but I moved them to this since now we have more time. We have a 6:00 ADR for 50’s Prime Time. I am excited to try the PB&J shake and combo platter here. I am not sure how I feel about the antics though. I will be cool as long as it's not public humiliation for the whole restaurant to witness, like standing the in the corner :sad2:. After dinner I would like to do Muppet Vision before our FP for ToT. I haven’t done this ride at night since I think 2005 at California Adventure, which all know isn’t as good anyway, so I can’t wait:woohoo:. Then we’ll go see Fantasmic! which is new to Joe and he is looking forward to seeing this.

We'll have to rush right from Fanstasmic so we can see the fireworks. I know they are new from SWW, but I watched a Youtube video of them and they did look very similar, so I am not worried about getting a great view, I'm just happy to be seeing it at all. At this point we'll be fish swimming up stream to get over to the launch bay. I know we are going to spend a good chunk of time here. We definitely have to meet both Chewie and Kylo Ren. After Launch Bay, I am hoping to be able to do Great Movie ride and TSMM, so we'll see. Overall I am very happy with this day, although I think it's going to be a tiring one. But it'd our last day, so I say go big or go homeparty:

Do you have a Disney Visa? We were able to meet Kylo Ren with basically no wait at the Disney Character Visa Greet at HS- inside the launch bay, but different from the regular Kylo greet. Granted, it could be a different character, but I think it is usually him...

Awa sweet! :thumbsup2

Just a heads up... I heard somewhere recently that the supplyer for the bread for the Tonga Toast has changed and is different now and people have been missing the old stuff. Don't know many of the details of it though.

We won’t be able to have a leisurely breakfast though because I would like to me at AK for rope drop:faint:.
That seems ambitious...:scratchin

I would like to do KRR and one I don’t want to backtrack to Asia later, and I think the line will be crazy if we go later. BUT what if we get soaked, I don’t want to walk around soaked all day:confused3
Best I can come up with is wear quick dry clothes or bring a different set and switch to flip flops when you get on.

I am not sure how I feel about the antics though. I will be cool as long as it's not public humiliation for the whole restaurant to witness, like standing the in the corner :sad2:.
Yeah I've never understood the appeal of the humiliation antics :confused3

Awesome! I'm glad that there was actually a change that worked in your favor!

And as for Rivers of Light, it sounds like they're having some issues there, so it isn't like it is just a temporary delay in opening and you'll just barely miss it.

This kinda fits Joe's personality perfectly :rotfl2:
Poor Joe... being picked on by his MiL and wife... :rolleyes1

And a new purse for me.
Those have become my go to gift for DW. Can't think of something to get her for Christmas? Well, let's just see what new Vera Bradley Disney designs there are... :rolleyes1

BUT what if we get soaked, I don’t want to walk around soaked all day:confused3.
If it is hot you'll dry fast. I always just try to wear dry fit Nike/Under Armour type clothes when I know I'll be riding something where I'll get wet. They dry in no time.

I am not sure how I feel about the antics though. I will be cool as long as it's not public humiliation for the whole restaurant to witness, like standing the in the corner :sad2:
Just tell your server when you're seated. I'm sure they'll tone it down if they know you don't want the full antics. I know they will definitely do that for you at WCC, so I'm sure 50's would do the same. I haven't been there in years and I can't convince DW to go there because she had to stand in a corner there when she was in Jr. High.

Overall I am very happy with this day, although I think it's going to be a tiring one. But it'd our last day, so I say go big or go homeparty:
::yes:: Definitely looks like a lot of fun!

We do have the Visa, does he talk for that meet too or just the regular one?

Just a heads up... I heard somewhere recently that the supplyer for the bread for the Tonga Toast has changed and is different now and people have been missing the old stuff. Don't know many of the details of it though.
Thanks, I've only had it one time to I doubt I'll notice the difference, we'll see I suppose.

That seems ambitious...:scratchin
already changed it :thumbsup2

Best I can come up with is wear quick dry clothes or bring a different set and switch to flip flops when you get on.
good tip about flop flops I always were sneakers

Yeah I've never understood the appeal of the humiliation antics :confused3
Yeah me either

Awesome! I'm glad that there was actually a change that worked in your favor!
Finally

And as for Rivers of Light, it sounds like they're having some issues there, so it isn't like it is just a temporary delay in opening and you'll just barely miss it.
Yeah it seems that way, I am just putting it as something we can look forward to for next time...maaybe :rotfl:

Poor Joe... being picked on by his MiL and wife... :rolleyes1
:rotfl2:

Those have become my go to gift for DW. Can't think of something to get her for Christmas? Well, let's just see what new Vera Bradley Disney designs there are... :rolleyes1
Lucky wife

It is supposed to be hot :thumbsup2

poor DW, that would scar me too :rotfl2:

I am have been a very bad DISer and abandoned this PTR, sorry.

Things have been crazy here and I just got kind of burned out on the planning. I literally changed 3 or 4 of my 7 days. I have never been this close to a trip and changed this much. I am happy to say, that every change has been good and something we will enjoy very much. I am going keep it as a surprise, so you have something interesting to read in the TR, if you choose to read it :P. I am going to just post where we'll be everyday in because I know DISers will be there, so if you see a day that overlaps mine, I am always up for a DIS meet. :disrocks:
