Day 4, December 17, 2000 or The Wind takes us back to WDW!
We are all pretty tired this am when Mickey wakes us. Our bill is on the door and everything was done perfectly. We make it to the Maya Grill for breakfast at 8:15. The buffet is very good and reasonable. After breakfast we head back to the room and finish up. Bye CS.

This morning we decide to go see the décor at the other resorts. First stop Wilderness Lodge, it is fantastic. The tree is huge. I think because the décor of WL is rustic it carries off the Christmas decorations the best of the resorts we saw. From here we go to check out the new villas. They are the same as BWV except the décor. We really liked them and I think we’ll try to stay there in Aug. We now decide to head over to the Grand Floridian. Very festive and I love the Victorian gingerbread house. After taking some pictures here we head to the Boardwalk. I love the Victorian feel to the décor here also. I wish we could see the Boardwalk at night all lit up! At BWV I call to check on our flight – on time…little did we know. We decide to head to Downtown Disney. After checking out the Lego Store we head to Planet Hollywood for a quick lunch. We’ll definitely eat here next time. Our server was very attentive and the food was good. AAA loved the props, especially the Power Rangers stuff. Well it’s time to head to the airport. We arrive at Orlando, return the car, check-in and head to the gate. So far on time. Well, it’s 1:26 and we should’ve boarded by now…”Can I have your attention please, flight 2822 to Boston has been delayed til 6:30 and that is not definite. Very bad weather, we’ll try to get out earlier. You may rebook.” Well that’s all I needed to hear. I send Frank to the desk line and I get on the phone. USAir reservations does not have an update yet but she gives me the flight #s and times for Monday. I join Frank in line and call my Mom. She says lightening, wind, rain don’t come home. I then call my girlfriend and ask her to call AAA’s teacher and explain. She tells me 60 mph winds. We’re not going home! AAA is screaming let’s go to MGM. Next thing I know. I’ve got a room at WL with an MKC discount, a PS at Sci Fi for 6:05, a car rental and they are pulling our bags off the plane. We’re rebooked for Mon at 10:57am. Yippeeeeee! I’m going to see Osborne Spectacle of Lights! After a very nice man helps Frank find our luggage we’re off! I have to say this was our first time flying Metrojet and we were very pleased. The flight attendants were wonderful, the ticket agents very helpful and the phone reservationists great!

We arrive at WL and are all excited. We’ve always wanted to stay here. It is so festive. Check in goes smoothly. We take a room with bunk beds that has a lovely view of the roof. But c’est la vie! Our bags arrive and within 5 minutes we’re off to MGM. This time we opt not to drive and to take the bus. Apparently someone is smiling on us because the bus is right there waiting! We arrive in time for Indiana Jones, AAA’s favorite show. After Indie we headed to the Great Movie ride but the line is too long. So we arrive early at Sci Fi for our ressies. Boy, has this place become popular. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a Laser Lemonade which was excellent. Dinner was very good and our server Kevan was a riot. He was having a blast with Anthony. From here we headed to see Osborne. WOW! We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. I’m considering doing this to our lawn next year! LOL Anthony loved looking through the glasses. We now use them at home to look at the tree. After Osborne we head to the Great Movie Ride and then off to the bus, where AAA falls asleep. Nite!

Wow! If you have to extend a trip, it must be great to do it at Disney. :)

I'm glad you got to see the Osborne Lights.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)

I just can't believe how much our trips are echoing each other. First MK all day, dinner at LTT, then MVMCP on Friday, then we both went to AK first and Epcot for the 6:15 Tapestry, then we both transferred to the WL on Sunday (though ours was planned ;)) followed by an evening at MGM to see the Osborne Lights... :D It's great that y'all were able to get a room at the WL for your surprise extended stay!!
