Characterpalooza...

Anyone who has caught this recently (last 30 days or so) what time did it take place and where in DHS was it held ? We're leaving in a few days and my daughter just loves the characters so we really would love to catch this while we're there . Thanks .

Last place I read it was taking place was near the front of the park but I wanted to confirm that and also get an idea of what time it was happening ...hopefully somebody has done this recently and can share that info . Thanks .

We checked one day last week in the front outside around the usual time and there was nothing going on. We also walked basically the entire park right around that time and didn't see anything.

If it's not at the front of park: head towards ToT, pass the queue, down the slope, pass the ToT exit/gift shop and Joffery's cart to the large (giant, can't miss them) gates that you dead-end into. Depending on how familiar you are with HS layout and Fantasmic, you may recognize this as one of the extra exits for crowds. The only way I know of to know the time is Kennythepirate.com, when I was there this spring and F! was at 8:30 and 10 it was at 5:45.

I can not find the information that would tell me what time characterpalooza would be on our visit. I used the links above but can't find times. Per calendars it says that on our day at Hollywood Studios fantasmic is at 7 and then 9. i remember the fantasmic times had something to do with characterpalooza times. Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!

In the past, I believe the general rule was that 'Palooza would be scheduled 4.5 hours before the last Fantasmic!.

In the past couple of years when there were three Fantasmics scheduled, Palooza did not occur. It is dependent upon the CMs' schedule and with 3 shows, CMs don't need a filler (Palooza).

Ok , sorry to take so long to get back on here and share info but we did not get back until the wee hours of the 22nd and then had to finish preparing for the holidays plus going back to work so I hope everyone understands . So , we did find out that Characterpalooza had been taking place most days just outside the park by Guest Relations at (if I'm remembering correctly) around 4:10 most days (thanks to Kenny the Pirates website for the free info) we were there . However , I cannot confirm that it actually happened that day because we were unable to make it there in time and just adjusted our plans on the fly . We did get to see Sorcerer Mickey , Santa Goofy , and Darth Vader with minimal waits .

Any idea if there will be a Character Palooza during January? I read an old post (2013) on the Disney Moms Panel that they do not happened from Nov -March? I am going in two weeks time and would love to meet Robin Hood!

That is outdated info.

When Countdown to Fun parade ended, Palooza switched to year-round except when 3 Fantasmics are scheduled or when the park closes early.

You'd have to purchase Kenny's app for more precise info.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if it was worth buying Kenny's app as I had read that it was no longer updated due to the sporadic nature of the meet and greets. Do you know if that is true?

His website isn't updated but his Character Locator app is. It's to keep the crowd level down at Characterpalooza - the horrendous crowds were causing unsafe conditions for the characters which resulted in random, unannounced locations.
