Can no-expiration tickets still be upgraded?

I have unused 10-day no-expiration +WPF&M tickets that I would like to upgrade to Park Hoppers. In the past, I had heard about price-bridging once the tickets are used for the first time, but I'm nervous about that strategy now that the no-expiration option is gone. I called Disney, and the representative wasn't able to contact anyone who would know definitively. Does anyone have recent experience with this issue?

I attempted to do the same thing with tickets identical to yours last month, at 2 different locations (MK GS and Epcot, I think it was), and was unable to do so. They said the only way to make changes would be to remove the NE. I was still within the 14 days of first use.

Other reports here stated this kind of upgrade was allowed by the CMs.

So, you can always ask nicely.

I've seen one single post that someone was able to add a "feature" like you want to do, but that they will not add days to the tickets.

I have the same tickets you do and had planned to do the same thing when I used them, but that won't be for another 10 months. If you do try, please report back.

I tried in Sept. and was not allowed to. The CM said the non-expiration tickets are no longer in their computer system, so they must be used "as-is" now. I wanted to add the park hopper to 4 unused 10 day water park and more non-expiring tickets.

I was able to update in November 2015. I did it the first day after entry at AKL guest services. Cost 27 dollars and change. I asked three times they stay non expiring. i was assured yes. We had 10 day NE plus tickets from under cover.

Update: I was successful. I tried at the Blizzard Beach ticket counter after using the ticket's first entitlement, and then the DHS ticket counter, and was turned away both times. The DHS cast member referred me to guest relations.

The CM at DHS guest relations tried to tell me it wasn't possible, but having heard reports here that it was, I stood firm and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was calm and logical about about wanting Disney to honor the conditions under which the ticket was purchased, but the CM got irritated and said that the supervisor would just tell me the same thing anyway. After some deliberation (and maybe research) in the back office, the supervisor came out and did an override to add Park Hoppers to my existing 10-day no-expiration WPF&M tickets. The cost was the grandfathered price-bridging amount of $27.69/ticket.
