Day 2:
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Mickey wake up call at 6:30am. Hopped on bus for PS seating at Donald's breakfast at AK. We ran a little late, but we got in with no wait. We give this a 3* rating for the meal, food was very good and the characters were cool. They were: Goofy, Donald, Mickey, and Pluto. The cast members working there were alot of fun. Off to Dinosaur, with no wait, DS LOVES dinosaurs and was really looking forward to this ride. We warned him it might be a little scary. After all said and done, not sure when we will convince him to ride this one again. Stopped at DinoLand, the kids dug bones in the boneyard. Next, on to the Safari ride, 10 min. wait. Saw more animals this time, than we did 2 yrs ago. Next, we went to Tough to be a Bug, 15 min. wait. DD after 2 yrs still hates 3-D movies, but went anyways. DH got the suprise this time, when the woman next to him jumped and hit him when the bee sting came. The woman felt really bad, but DH just laughed. On to the Kali River Rapids ride, 20 min wait. Everyone wanted to do this one, just worried about how wet it really was. It really lives up to it's reputation, but getting wet felt really good on a hot day! Sloshed over to the Festival of the Lion King, one of everyone's favorite shows. The show was good at always!! Back to MacDonald's for lunch before heading back to DxL. Got to DxL around 2pm, then took a swimming break at the quite pool. Back to the bus at 5:30pm headed to Epcot for a PS at Teppenyaki's for Mother's Day dinner. No one in the family except DW had every had Japanese food before. Since it was Mother's Day she picked where to eat. 4* meal this time. This turned out to be one of our top meals of the whole vacation. Everyone loved the chef(James), he was a stich. Promised DS we would Pokemon shop since we were in Japan. Used the kids passports for the first time, the cast member was not having a DISNEY DAY!! ToN started just as we were finishing up. the music is addicting, we were all amazed by what we saw. Took boat back across the lagoon and headed for Test Track. No FP left for the day, and a 2 1/2 hr wait. Guess we will skip this one! We headed to Spaceship Earth (never did this one before) no wait. We were doing hands on exhibit after the ride and DD got cranky, so we called it a night. Another LONG wait for a DxL bus ride. Had a late snack at the food court (chocolate cake is to die for!). Went back to room and called "mom's" for Mother's Day. Then we hit the lights for the night.

Thoughts for the day: Bussing from DxL is great, but getting back SUCKS!! Don't be afaid to try something new, it just might suprise you (Teppenyaki's). Kids were still not into the DISNEY SPIRIT, but decided to switch gears and get them more involved with daily planning.

Roger Rabbit,

I have to know-going to DW on Nov. 30th. Why do you feel your kids weren't excited? My son is also 7 and this will be his third trip. We go every two years. Do you think Disney wears off for kids?

When we went in 1998 our kids were 5 & 7. It truly was one of the most magical trips we ever had been on. Both of them were truly excited and never fought or bickered that trip. We only did a few big meals, otherwise it was the foodcourt at CBR. This last may they weren't hardly into any of it. We used the Discovery magic package, and used most of the flex features for character meals and some great other dining choices. I thought that would be the route to go to have them enjoy the trip. Now that I look back on it, I would spend less time about the character meals and wing it a little more. By the end of the trip they started to come around. I think the disney spirit did wear off from the 1st trip. They tell me that they really want to go back. The other thing is that I LOVE everything disney, more than they do. Like I said in our trip report, we started to let them guide us a little more on how the day should go. That seemed to work a lot better. Enjoy your trip!!
