premium experiences....what are they? how much do they cost?

i've seen titles "fish are friends" and "surf's up"....but i can't find the actual description of what the activities entail. maybe i'm not looking hard enough?!

anyone whose children have participated in one or both of these premium experiences, i'd love to hear your feedback!

here they are, under premium experiences:

https://resorts.disney.go.com/aulani-hawaii-resort/activities/auntys-beach-house/

they are $75/child if i recall correctly, and comes included with lunch or dinner.

will report back after my kids participate in surf's up.

THANK YOU! exactly what i was looking for.

and if i recall correctly, i can pre-register my children at aunty's beach house 90 days before check in? is the 90-day timeframe applicable to when i can reserve a spot for my children for one of the premium experiences?

Yes same 90 days for the premium. When I called in it was a call center and not Aunty's although I did call them about changes in the dates they assigned the 3 other choices. If you do a search on here for Aunty's there is some really good resources. certainly helped my in my planning

DS and DD did "surf's up" this evening and they LOVED it! they checkd at 5, had dinner served by the kitchen (choice of grilled chicken, pizza, and i can't recall what else), got to decorate a small wooden surfboard with stickers and what not, hung out with Chip and Dale, and danced with the counsellors. when i picked them up they eagerly asked what activity they will get to do tomorrow. alas, they were disappointed to hear i didn't sign them up for any additional activity there as it will be our last day here, they've already done Stitch's Space Goo on monday and Aunty's Aloha Party on tuesday, and i want the whole family to be together the whole day tomorrow.

here's a photo of the surf board (excuse DS's error in the upside-down orientation):

i'm impressed by the quality and thickness of the wood. it's like a cutting board material and is pretty substantial.

and here's the tote bag each received:

i highly recommend this premium activity. :)

you should search the board for "fish for friends" comments. it was a good activity too i think but someone said it made her daughter refuse to eat fish for a while or something like that, lol!

Has anyone's child done the Fish are Friends?

I'm thinking my five year old would LOVE it.

One thing to know is that they are only offered on certain nights of the week. My 7 year old son did Surf's Up on a Wednesday, and had a great time. My wife and I grabbed sunset reservations for Ama Ama. The surf board and bag are small enough to easily pack in a suitcase, so definitely bring it home with you.

My daughters, age 3& 6 just did both Fish are Friends and Surf Up & absolutely Loved both of them.

For the Fish, they first make fish food with jello, water, seaweed & fish food. They also learn some fish facts. Then the split up into two groups. One group goes to Rainbow Reef & feeds the fish, the second watches from the Windows below & then they switch. If you want to watch the feeding, get to the Rainbow Reef around 1pm.

After that, they go back to Aunty's for a fish cracker snack & watch Finding Nemo. Parents pick up at th side door. The kids are given a backpack with a movie "Oceans", which the adults loved, but my kids found boring.

Surfs Up involves a tasty dinner served family style, chicken, Mac and cheese, vegetables & dip, pizza & fruit kabobs.
Then a dance party with Chip & Dale who act in their typical mischievous way. Followed by making really high quality mini surf boards which my 3yr old crammed as many stickers on as possible.
Super fun and even though it's expensive at $80 a kid, it was worth it to see how much fun they had.

Also, we didn't pre book Surf's Up, but checked around 4pm and they had several cancellations, so even if you don't register beforehand, there's a decent chance of getting in.

Did your 3-year old enjoy this? My son will be 3 when we go in June and I was wondering if he'd be too young for these activities.

My 3yr old LOVED these experiences and Aunty's in general, perhaps more than my 6yr old. They do a great job of tailoring the experiences to each kids ability.

Just know they have to be completed potty trained. I saw one little girl being escorted out by mom after a potty accident and was told by staff that she couldn't return until the next trip.

DS is completely potty trained, he has been for a year, so that shouldn't be an issue. How long do the premium activities last? I'm really thinking I'll sign DS up, they sound really fun.

"surf's up" is 3 hours long, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (also on a wednesday like @SonomaCountyDad wrote above). however, note that you have to check in no later than 30 minutes before the start time, so plan to be there by 5 at the very latest, or they'll get grouchy and give you a lecture (not kidding). ;) the paperwork says 30-45 minutes, actually. dinner is included.

don't know about "fish are friends", but i suspect it's probably similar in length, but includes lunch instead.

Fish are friends are similar in length. They actually walk to the rainbow reef to see the fish there. My 4 year old loved both fish are friends and surf up. She said the free ones were very boring. she didn't know there's a price difference so I believe the activities are indeed different. We are going again next month and I signed up both again for her. She is really looking forward to it.

*She was only 3 last year and she enjoyed them a lot!

I can post a picture of the draw string bag and stuff inside from Fish later :)
