I have been researching Disneyland Paris and disabilities as a wheelchair user. I have read in several places that disabled persons get in at a discount and their caregiver gets in free. I keep seeing references to a 'blue badge' but I doubt they are referring to blue handicap passes we have in the US. Does anybody have any experience with this?

A blue badge is what we get in the UK for disabled parking. It has your photo on it and valid to/expiry date. No idea about the discounted entry but 1 carer definitely get in free when paying on the gate. Not sure how it works as we always have a hotel package. Once in the park you take the badge to city hall and they will give you a pass to allow entry through the disabled entrance for rides, which is normally the exit, and allows you into the disabled viewing area for parades and dreams.

A disabled person gets 10% off the gate price for their park ticket or Annual Pass and 1 carer gets a free carer's ticket. I think the carer's ticket needs to be obtained every morning at the park entrance even if the disabled person has a AP or multi-day ticket. There is no free carer's entrance where the disabled person is there on a hotel and tickets package. I am sure that they will accept whatever standard proof of disability you have in the US, they can't expect US visitors to have a European blue badge. :)

My girlfriend has limited mobility and we will be renting a wheelchair at the park. She has a blue handicap pass and will have a letter from her doctor in order to obtain the priority access card. Would we be able to get the disabled ticket for her and the free carer's ticket for me or do we not qualify because she's not in a wheelchair full time?

I don't know definitely but I would guess it depends if she could access the parks alone or would be unable to do that without a carer with her

She requires a wheelchair to access parks as she can't walk any long distance and can't manually move it herself so a carer would be required for certain. Thank you for your help.
