A Whole New World, A Whole New Life! -- A Jan-Feb-Mar 2015 TR -- *COMPLETED* 9/29

Funny, I didn't know you could take a boat from HS to EP...I guess you need a park hopper though to do that, right? What a fun day at HS....I can't wait to see all those shows...though there is never enough time for them all!!! Beauty and the beast looks amazing!! I also can't wait to try TSMM...is it the same as Buzz?

All caught up! Sounds like the kids had a great time for their first visits! Yippee for you high score! :yay:
Yay! Yes, they had an amazing time! It's still all they talk about now!

Glad the Toy Story ride was running this time! Great picture of Maddie and your mom outside of Star Tours. So, since Maddie doesn't like hot pizza, does that mean she likes cold pizza?
Thanks! Yes, apparently she'll eat like leftover pizza if it's not heated up. She's a pretty funny kid!

Yes, they run boats from Hollywood to Epcot. They make stops at the Epcot area resorts, like the Swan and Dolphin and the Boardwalk, on the way. The dock is located outside the park entrance at HS, but at Epcot it's outside the World Showcase in between France and the UK. So you need a park hopper if you're going from Hollywood to Epcot, but not if you go from Epcot to Hollywood. Toy Story Mania is the same as Buzz in the fact that you shoot at things for points, but the similarities pretty much stop there. In TSM the guns have a string you pull instead of a button you push, your car moves around to different screens that have scenes in 3D that you shoot at, and it's just all around more advanced. In my opinion TSM is a lot more fun because I feel like it takes more skill!

Hi Shannon- I'm all caught up on your TR and it's fabulous!! What a great experience to have with your family! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your time in WDW.

I'm new to your TR and have spent the entire day (ok, my breaks and lunch since I'm at work) reading it all. I love, love, love it and I really hope you continue writing!!!!

Oh boy TSMM sounds awesome...although...a bit more complicated so I'm likely to totally suck at it lol but I'm sure it's a lot of fun!

When I left off we had just gotten on a boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot! The boats that run from park to park are different than the boats you might take to Magic Kingdom or Downtown Disney. They're fairly large, but they do go kind of slow. We stopped at the Swan and Dolphin first, then after that the boat would make stops at the Boardwalk, the Yacht Club, the Beach Club, then finally Epcot. Because the boat seemed to be going super slow already, and we knew that making all those stops would take time, we decided to just get off at the Boardwalk and walk to Epcot from there!

It was a nice 10-15 minute walk, and it was a beautiful day out, so we didn't mind at all. The view was great, too!

We made it to the International Gateway and entered the park. The gateway is located in between France and the UK, so you can get some really different and pretty views of France from there.

We were meeting Lindsey and her family at Figment, so we headed straight over to Future World! We made it over there, but they weren't there yet, so we sat on a bench and waited. Naturally, I took some photos.

We were waiting for them for probably about 15 minutes, but we didn't mind. When they finally showed up, it was a little after 5:00, and we were so happy to see each other! Jack and Max were very excited to tell us all about their day so far and what they had done. Jack had ridden Test Track and he loved it! He said going fast was his favorite. After catching each other up on our days so far, we headed inside to ride Figment. The said 5 minutes, and it was practically a walk on. I rode with Jack, Max, and Mom, and we had a great ride!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3A54%3A%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B2%3C77%3B%3C5347nu0mrj

They had already ridden once that day, so Jack and Max made sure to warn us about the stinky skunk part!
After the ride we spent some time playing in Imageworks with the kids. They had a lot of fun playing with the music sensors and on the musical jumping pads. Emma was excited to be able to get down and run around with her brothers!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3695%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B2%3C69%3B%3B9347nu0mrj

Once we were done playing it was a little after 5:30, so we decided to go get dinner. We went over to the Electric Umbrella because it was close. We had brought sandwiches to eat, so we ate those while Lindsey and Adam got some restaurant food. We had a great time eating together, but eating with kids always takes longer, so it was around 6:15 bu the time we were done. While we ate we discussed what our plans were for after dinner. Lindsey and Adam had FP's for Test Track, and they offered to let me and Travis use them so we could ride with Jack! So after dinner we headed over there. Mom, Dad, Amy, and Jack waited out in the dump shop area with Max and Emma while Lindsey, Adam, and Sam rode single rider. The FastPass line still took about 20 minutes for us, but it wasn't too bad. Jack had a fun time designing the car.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3B473%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B2%3C69%3B%3B4347nu0mrj

We made it on the ride at about 6:45, and Jack was totally ready.

We had a really great ride, and Jack had a ton of fun. He was screaming "woohoo!" pretty much the whole time, and he had the biggest grin on his face.

(Shout out to the adorable couple in the back seat trying to make a heart.)
After Test Track we made a stop at the bathroom, which took forever for some reason. Adam ended up getting lost, then the people who went to the bathroom couldn't find the people who hadn't gone, and for some reason it just took a really long time for us to all get together again, even though we all had phones. We were all reunited eventually, though, and once we were we headed into World Showcase! We just kind of strolled around for a while, keeping an eye out for spots that might be good for Illuminations. We didn't stop in too many countries, but we did make a stop in America so Lindsey and Adam could get some funnel cake. We hung out there for a while while they ate it.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3A295%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B2%3C69%3B%3A7347nu0mrj

Funny story about this picture: I took a couple of different ones, but people kept walking by and sneaking into the photos. At one point while I was trying to get a good shot, this couple of guy walked by and one of them shouted, "It's okay, I would be taking pictures of me, too. I know I'm fabulous!"
He just kept walking, so I never really responded or anything, but it was just the funniest thing. I was sitting next to Sam at the time, and we both just looked at each other and laughed.
After that we moved on to the next country. I didn't see them, but Mom said she had seen a bride and groom walking around while were in America, which was really cool! I think it would be so special to get to go to Disney for/after your wedding.
The next country we stopped in was France. We went inside the bakery to see if there was anything we wanted, but nobody saw anything, so we moved on. I don't know if I've mentioned this yet, but I have a thing for fountains. I just think they're so beautiful, and I love the sound they make. So, before we left I snapped a picture of the France fountain, which is one of my favorites.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C%3B79%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B2%3C69%3B%3A6347nu0mrj

It was a little after 8:00 at this point, so we started getting serious about staking out a spot for Illuminations. We ended up picking a spot in between Canada and the UK, which ended up having a pretty good view. We were about 45 minutes early, so we got comfortable. We took turns getting up to go get treats. Mom, Dad, and Travis went to get ice cream, then when they got back Amy and Jack went and got some too.
Once they were back, Sam and I went to go get something. We decided to make the walk over to Norway to get something from the bakery there. Once we got there it didn't take us long to decide that we both wanted school bread. So, we ordered two school breads from the guy behind the counter. Now here's where things get interesting. I'm going to tell you this story, and you probably won't laugh because it was really one of those "you had to be there" kind of things, but I'm going to tell you anyway because it was so darn funny when it happened.
So, we order from the guy, he says okay, no problem, and goes to get the pastry from the case. Then all of a sudden he just gets really quite and he has this odd look on his face. Then he starts talking to the two girls behind the counter with him in Norwegian. They are all just looking down at the guys feet, then the girls start laughing. Sam and I are just kind of standing there looking at each other like, what the heck is going on? What is so funny?
They talk some more in Norwegian, then the guy finally looks at us, with that funny look still on his face. Then what he says just makes everything make total sense.
"I'm so sorry," he says, "but I seem to have dropped all the school bread we have on the floor."
As he's saying this, he looks like he can't tell whether he wants to laugh or to jump in a hole. At first I'm sure we looked really surprised, but then we were like, no, it's okay, don't worry about, etc. He said for the inconvenience he would like to offer us some lefse free of charge, which was super nice. (Lefse is pretty much like a tortilla type thing rolled up with cinnamon sugar.) So, we took the lefse, said thank you, he apologized again, and we were on our way.
It wasn't until we were out the door and walking away that Sam and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing. We literally just could not stop laughing about it. I'm sure people were looking at us like we were crazy, but it didn't matter. We just kept thinking about the poor guy who probably had school bread all over his pants and shoes and laughing more. We also just kept repeating "I'm sorry, but I seem to have dropped all the school bread we have on the floor" and cracking up all over again.
Since we had gotten the lefse thing for free, we decided to still get some ice cream too. So, we stopped and got two soft-serve cones before we headed back to the group. Once we got back we tried to tell them our story, but like I said, it's really one of those "you had to be there" kind of things. Sam and I ate our ice cream cones and we all shared some of the lefse. It was okay, but there wasn't anything special about it. Like I said, it's pretty much just like a tortilla with cinnamon sugar.
There wasn't too much time now until the fireworks would start, which was good because the kids were getting tired and cranky. Once the fireworks began they got a little better, but Illuminations isn't exactly the most exciting fireworks show. There's that part where the globe lights up with the pictures on it, which they thought was boring. They did like it overall, however, even though Jack covered his ears most of the time.

Once the show was over we headed straight for the park exit. We made it out okay through the crowds, and we all split up to go our separate ways. Everyone ended up making it back home safe and sound, and we all went to bed as soon as we got back to the RV!

Everyone had a great day today - Nathan and Ginger had spent the day at Universal, Scott at Hollywood Studios, and Lindsey at Epcot. We had a lot of fun spending time with both Lindsey and Scott, and we would be seeing them both the next day at Animal Kingdom!

It really is tons of fun! It is more complicated, but there are some tricks you can use. You can look up videos on the internet if you want! And obviously you'll get better with practice.

I don't comment very often but I am reading along and loving your trip report Thanks

I LOVE your pic of the France fountains!! I can totally see how that schoolbread on the floor thing could be funny right after it happened...and it sounds like one of those times where it was so funny that you start giggling whenever you think about it!! Looks like you had a great Epcot day.

We were up this morning to make it to Animal Kingdom for 8:00 opening! Once we were all ready to go, we headed out to the bus stop and it was around 7:15. The bus came shortly, and we arrived at Animal Kingdom right about 7:30. The sunrise was beautiful this morning; it looked like it came straight out of the Lion King.

This photo doesn't really do it justice, but you get the idea.
We met Scott and Sarah in line, and it wasn't too long before Lindsey and Adam arrived as well! Amy and Jack were coming, but they were still on their way. We were only missing Nathan and Ginger today, but we did have a day planned later in the trip to all be at AK together.
Our game plan was to head straight to Everest, so when they let us in just before 8:00, that's where we went! Jack and James were so excited to be together in Disney, and they insisted on holding hands the whole way there.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3459%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B54797%3A%3A347nu0mrj

(I took that while walking backwards, sorry it's a bit blurry.)
We hang out together a lot back at home, so all the little cousins are really close. They had a blast whenever they got the chance to play in the parks together.
Once we got to Everest we figured out the whole baby-swapping thing, and Sam, Adam, Mom, Travis, and Sarah ended up going first. Lindsey, Scott, Dad, and I stayed out with the kids. They had a fun time playing, sitting on the rocks, and watching the trains go down the big hill.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C255%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B5828848347nu0mrj

While they were riding, Amy and Jack showed up, so everyone was there! They came off pretty soon after Amy arrived, since it only took them like 10 minutes to ride because it was a walk on. We switched off for the next ride and Scott, Lindsey, Amy, Sam, Mom, and Travis went on while Adam, Sarah, Dad, Jack, and I sat out.

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv357%3A4%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B58545%3C6347nu0mrj

Once again it only took 10-15 minutes to ride. Once everyone was off we decided it was time to head over to Dinoland! All the kids were super excited for this, because they all love dinosaurs. What they were really excited about was the Dinoland playground, but that didn't open until official park opening at 9:00. It was only a little after 8:30 now, so we decided to ride Triceratops Spin in the mean time.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3B36%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B5828863347nu0mrj

Mom, Lindsey, Scott, Sarah, Sam and I rode that with the kids while everyone else did Primeval Whirl. Both rides only had 5-10 minute waits, so it didn't take too long. I rode with Maddie and Max, and we had a lot of fun. They just wanted to sit at the very top!
Once we got off it was still a little before 9:00, so we decided now would be a good time to go ride Dinosaur. We had been telling Jack and James about it, and even though we warned them it was dark and possibly a bit scary, they both wanted to ride! So, we all headed over there. Lindsey and Sarah stayed out with the kids who were too little to ride, but the line was only about 10 minutes, so they didn't have to wait out for long. Jack and James did fine on the ride. They didn't like freak out or anything, but when we asked them about it after they both admitted that their eyes had been closed pretty much the whole time. We told them that was okay, because at least they were brave enough to ride!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3666%3A%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B58545%3C4347nu0mrj

When we got off, we went to go find Lindsey and Sarah, who were already at the playground. We took over the kids from there so Lindsey and Sarah could go ride Dinosaur. We spent the next 45 minutes or so at the playground, just letting the kids run around and play. They had a blast climbing, going on the slides, and just getting to run and play.

The last thing we did there was take the kids over to the area where you can dig up the dinosaur bones. We actually spent a great deal of time there, and we had a hard time getting the kids to leave! It's really a great place for little ones to get down and just do stuff. They spend so much time having to be in the stroller or holding someone's hand, it's nice for them to be able to have some freedom.

Emma was a bit too young to play in the dig yard (she would have just tried to put the rocks in her mouth), so while we were digging up dino bones, Lindsey, Travis, and a couple others took her to meet Donald Duck. He had hardly any line, so it only took them a few minutes. Emma did okay with him; she didn't freak out or cry, she was just a little shy.

Once we were all done at the playground, we all met up again. We stopped to have a snack, and we discussed what our next step would be. There was a 10:45 Flights of Wonder show, so we decided we would do that. Once we were all ready to get going again, we started making our way over to Asia. We made a stop at the bathroom on the way, and we ended up getting to the theater about 10-15 minutes early. They have a little mini show outside the theater before the show starts, so we got to watch that. They did a little presentation with a horned owl, and it was really cool.
Once they let us into the theater, we got some seats over on the right side near the front. The show started within a few minutes, and it was amazing, as usual. I think it's so great how they use the show to showcase the natural behaviors of the birds, especially because some of them have really cool talents!

The kids really loved the show, too, and they thought all the birds were super cool! It was about 11:15 when the show was over, which meant that our safari FastPasses were active! So, we headed over to Africa. The FP line only took about 10 minutes, and we were boarding our safari jeep! We had an okay safari with good views of hippos, rhinos, and giraffes. We didn't get a good view of the lions or cheetahs, unfortunately. It was still a really great ride, though! This was something that was really amazing to see through the kids' eyes. Animals like elephants, giraffes, and rhinos that they had only ever seen pictures of in books were now suddenly right before their eyes! It was priceless to see the wonder on their faces and hear the excitement in their voices as they exclaimed, "Look, there's a hippo!"

It was about noon when we got off the safari, so we decided it was time for lunch! We headed over to Pizzafari to get something. By the time we all ordered, found a place to sit, and got our food, it was about 12:30. The kids were all very exited to get to eat together. Jack and Max got pizza and James and Maddie got macaroni and cheese.

Mom, Sam, and I got the pasta and Dad and Travis got meatball sandwiches.

I'm not sure what everyone else got, but everyone enjoyed their food! It was a little after 1:00 by the time we were all finished and ready to go again. We were heading over to the Pangani Forest trail to see some more animals! Lots of animals were out playing this afternoon, including the monkeys:
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv39555%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B5848664347nu0mrj

The hippos:

And the gorillas:
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv35949%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B5848676347nu0mrj

We spent about 30 minutes walking the trail, seeing everything there was to see. We also saw some zebras, meerkats, birds, and reptiles. Once we were done on the Pangani trail, we decided to catch the train over to Rafiki's Planet Watch! We made our way over to the train station, and a train pulled away just as we got there, which was a bummer. Trains run every 7 minutes, though, so we didn't have to wait too long for the next one! The kids were super exited for the petting zoo they have at Rafiki's, and also to see what else they might have there! Once we got there the kids just took off, exploring all there was to explore. We spent about 30-45 minutes there, walking around, looking at the little animals they have, but mostly in the petting zoo. All of the kids adored the goats, pigs, and other animals they had in the petting zoo, and they had a blast just hanging out with them.

Eventually we had to say good-bye to the animals, though, and head back to Africa. We got to the train station and a train came in just a few minutes. Once we got back to Africa, we hung out in the shops for a while before deciding to head back home. We headed home a this point, but I honestly don't remember what everyone else did. They might have stayed to watch either Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo: The Musical, but I'm not entirely sure. Either way, we said good-bye and headed to the bus stop. A bus came within 10 minutes, and we were on our way home! Once we got back we spent the rest of the day just hanging out around Fort Wilderness. We played some basketball, Dad grilled for dinner, then after dinner Travis and I went swimming. The weather was chilly, but the pool is heated so it wasn't bad at all. We practically had the pool to ourselves, and it was a lot of fun. After taking showers and watching some TV, we got to bed around 9:30. The next day was our big family Magic Kingdom day!

What a fun AK day!! You must be such a park expert now and know where everything is!! It's great how most kids love anything to do with animals so much...I debated a lot about going to AK or not on our upcoming trip...because we have a great zoo at home...but why not spend some time with animals in a Disney setting!! Those birds are pretty awesome too...haven't seen that show before.

Isn't it awesome to see the parks through children's eyes? My husband & I LOVED riding "It's a Small World" with our kids (then ages 6 & 8 years). It was all new to them and their excitement made it new for us too.

Thank you! Yes, it totally was one of those moments!

It takes talent to walk backward and take a picture:)
Haha, thank you!

Haha, thank you! I don't know if we're really experts, we just have a lot of experience. I would totally recommend visiting AK! Even if you only go to ride the safari or the Festival of the Lion King. Those things are totally worth it!

Yes, it truly is amazing!

Today was our big family day at the Magic Kingdom! Everyone would be there, and we would be spending the majority of the day together. So, we got up this morning, put on the matching shirts we had made, and were out the door to make it for 8:00 EMH opening. We made it to the boat dock around 7:20, and by the time a boat came and we made the short trip between the Fort and the Kingdom, it was about 7:40.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3834%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A79%3C8347nu0mrj

Everyone else was already there, so once we made it through bag check we met up with them. We made it just in time for the opening show, and we were positioned near the front around the middle. The opening show is one of my favorite things in all of Disney, and I always sing along to the whole thing. The kids loved it, too, especially the part when Casey Jr. pulls into the station with all the characters!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv334%3B2%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B454347nu0mrj

Once the gates were open, we were heading straight for the Mine Train! But obviously so was everyone else. It wasn't super crowded, but there were definitely a lot of people, especially for an 8:00 opening.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv396%3B%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B457347nu0mrj

I don't know if this a new thing, but they have cast members holding a rope in front of all the guests, setting the pace and leading them to the rides. People still go crazy, though, pushing past people and trying to run. We tried to keep up with the crowd, but it was a bit difficult with two strollers and 5 little kids. By the time we had moved with the crowd over to Fantasyland, we saw that the line was already backed up close to the Circus, and was still growing. We knew that they hadn't opened up the whole queue yet, but we still didn't want to risk a super long wait first thing in the morning, especially with the kids. So, we quickly moved on to Plan B, which was to conquer the rest of Fantasyland!
Everyone parked their strollers, then we headed over to Peter Pan first! The line took all of five minutes, tops. Travis and I rode with Maddie and Max in between us, and it was a really fun ride! They spent the whole ride pointing things out, like Nana, the Lost Boys, the Mermaids, and of course Peter Pan. Once everyone was off, we decided to go into Castle Couture to get some Pixie Dust!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv36285%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B463347nu0mrj

Most of us girls got dusted, and so did James. Jack and Max didn't want sparkles on them, and Emma was too little. Getting pixie dusted is great if you don't mind being sparkly, but beware! The pixie dust will rub off on practically everything you touch, lean on, or sometimes even walk by. In just a few hours you might have thought that Scott had also been dusted just because of holding his kids! It's still worth it, though. :)
After that we decided now would be a good time to do Enchanted Tales with Belle. So, we headed over there and hopped in line. It only took about 15-20 minutes before we were in the room where they give out the parts to the kids.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C7%3C2%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B467347nu0mrj

(If you've never seen Enchanted Tales, it's an interactive show where the kids get to play the parts in the Beauty and the Beast story.) It was interesting to see which kids wanted to participate and which ones were too shy. Max was really excited and jumped right in. He got to play the wardrobe. James was the only other one who participated, but only after some coaxing. And he got the biggest part of all - the Beast! Once we were ready to head into the room where they tell the story, James got really upset and said he didn't want to play the Beast. In the end we were able to convince him that it would be fun, and he reluctantly consented. The cast members there are really good, and they helped James feel more comfortable. The whole show was incredibly adorable, and both Max and James had fun participating.

Plus, James playing the Beast made for some insanely cute photos! (The top one is courtesy of photo pass, the middle and bottom ones are mine.)

After the show they invite anyone who wants to to come up and get a picture with Belle. Jack is very shy when it comes to characters, especially the face characters. It took much convincing, but he finally agreed to come with me to say hi to Belle. His one condition was that Belle could not kiss him like she had kissed James!

Maddie and Max also got to meet Belle, and they were thrilled!

If you have kids, I would totally recommend doing Enchanted Tales! It's a lot of fun, and it's held in a very intimate setting where kids can feel more comfortable.
Once we were all done there, the next thing we did was the Little Mermaid. That line took about 15-20 minutes, which wasn't bad. This was the last thing we would do while it was still early magic hours; once we got off it was after 9:00 and the park was officially open. Emma got to ride this one with Uncle Nathan and Auntie Ginger, and she absolutely loved it! She was just pointing at everything and making her happy screechy sounds. All the other kids liked it, too, and we had a great ride.

Outside of the ride they have a little a tiny area themed as Eric's village, and they have a King Triton carving that the kids found really cool.

At this point a couple of us split up. Sam, Travis, Nathan, Ginger, Amy, Jack, and I all headed over to Main Street to see Scoop and trade pins while everyone else stayed and went to play at the circus. We thought about taking the train to Main Street, but we ended up just walking. It was around 9:40 now, and we were totally fighting the crowd trying to get up Main Street. Scoop was right on time at 9:45, and we easily spotted him. He was glad to see us again, and he was also glad to meet Nathan and Ginger! He tried really hard to remember our names, but he ended up calling Travis "Alex" and me "Charlotte". That was okay, though, and he promised he'd get it next time! We spent some time just talking, then we got down to our pin trading business. Once everyone traded who wanted to trade, we said our goodbyes and gave some other people a chance to trade. Scoop is probably one of the nicest people we met in our time at Disney, and he actually seemed to take an interest in us and our crazy family.
We headed back over to Fantasyland now to meet back up with everyone. We met them at the circus, where they told us about how they'd ridden the Barnstormer and Dumbo. Now that we were all together again, we decided to go ride Pooh Bear! That wait took about 20 minutes, but it wasn't too bad, especially with the interactive queue. We had a good ride, then after that we decided the last thing we'd do in Fantasyland would be the teacups. So, we headed over there and got in line. It took about 15 minutes, and we had a lot of fun. We took up like 5 teacups with the 18 of us! After that everyone collected their strollers from where they had parked over by the Mine Train, then we headed into Tomorrowland! The first thing we did was Buzz Lightyear, which had about a 15 minute wait. That's always a lot of fun, and everyone had a good time.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3458%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B6685%3A84347nu0mrj

Next up was the Peoplemover! Peoplemover is literally one of my favorite things in Magic Kingdom. I'm pretty sure we rode it almost every time we went to MK, and I practically had the voice over memorized by the end of our trip. I went with Nathan, Ginger, and Sam.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C%3A72%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A5%3B347nu0mrj

(Castle shot from the Peoplemover feat. the rare yellow box crane.)

When we got off the Peoplemover, it was around 11:15. At this point we all decided to split up for lunch. I think some people went to Cosmic Rays and some to Pinocchio's, but we had just brought sandwiches. Amy and Jack also had sandwiches, so we ate together. There are tables set up over between Space Mountain and the Speedway, so we sat there to eat. As we ate we discussed what our plan was for after lunch. We had Big Thunder FastPasses for 1:15-2:15, so we had to figure out what to do until then. When Amy and Jack spent the day with us at MK on my birthday, Amy and I had talked about meeting Gaston together. It hadn't worked out then, but we decided now was the perfect opportunity! So we decided that after lunch Amy, Jack, and I would go over to meet Gaston while Mom, Dad, Sam, and Travis would ride a few rides. We would meet back up to ride Big Thunder, then we would join back up with the rest of the family.

Amy, Jack, and I headed off to Fantasyland to get in line for Gaston! It was around 11:45-12:00 when we got there, and we were told that we would be in the 12:45 group. We didn't mind waiting because we had time to kill before our Big Thunder Mountain FastPass and it was something that we really wanted to do. While we were waiting Jack went inside the Tavern and got a LeFou's Brew that we shared. If you've never had a LeFou's Brew before, I would totally recommend trying one! It's like this toasted marshmallow flavored apple juice slush with passion fruit foam. I know it sounds kind of weird, but it is SO good.
We had a fun time in line watching Gaston interact with the other guests. Being able to watch definitely makes the wait seem shorter, unlike when you meet the princesses or Mickey where you don't get to see the characters until you're about to meet them. Gaston left to take a break around 12:30, and we were about 4th in line to see him when he came back out. Finally it was our turn, and I was just as nervous as the last time I had met him, if not more so. And apparently I had good reason to be.
Amy and I went up the meet him while Jack watched. When we first went up, his back was turned to us as he was admiring his statue in the middle of the square. I had no idea what to do, so I made Amy do all the talking. They talked about how great his statue was for a bit while I just stood there nodding my head and smiling stupidly. Then we went to pose for our picture, and this is where things get really crazy (read - mortifying). Gaston had noticed at this point that I was totally nervous and swoon-y, so when we posed for our picture he told me to look up at him. I was able to hold his gaze for all of 3 seconds before i had to turn away and giggle.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv39299%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B6685%3A94347nu0mrj

He then told be to look back at him, and when I did he made a kissing sound at me. Apparently, according to Amy, "my face erupted into an enormous blush", and it was all over from there. Gaston announced to everyone within earshot, "Oh boy, it looks like we've got an extra blushy and giggly one here."
He asked me what my name was, I told him, then he grabbed me by the shoulder and told me to come with him. He then proceeded to parade me all around the village all the while announcing, "Everyone listen up! This is Shannon! She just met me, fell madly in love, and is now blushing uncontrollably. Nobody look at Shannon, she is very embarrassed! You! Sir! Don't look at Shannon, do you see how embarrassed she is? Do you see how much she is blushing? Nobody look at SHANNON!"
And that went on for a couple of minutes before he brought me back to where Amy and Jack were waiting and we said good-bye. The whole time this was happening, I was pretty much in total shock. I had no idea what to do or think or anything. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before ever, and it was totally strange.

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3824%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B6685%3A%3A3347nu0mrj

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv33%3A%3B3%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B6685%3A96347nu0mrj

After it was over, I was still pretty much in shock. It took me awhile to actually process what had happened, especially since I wasn't expecting anything like that! Although is was quite mortifying, it was one of the most special, memorable character experiences that I've ever had. We talked about it the whole way as we went to meet up with everyone else. According to Amy and Jack, my face was priceless to whole time, and as Gaston led me away I looked back at Amy with a look of pure terror.
It was a little after 1:00 now, and we were headed over to Big Thunder to meet up with the rest of the family. When we got there no one else was there yet, so we called Mom to find out where they were. They were in line at the Haunted Mansion, pretty far back. Amy and Jack's FP's were only good until 1:30, and they didn't want to risk missing them, so we decided to ride just the three of us. The FP line only took about 10 minutes, and when we got off they still weren't there yet. We found a spot to sit in the shade to wait for them, and they showed up within a couple of minutes. It was Mom, Dad, Sam, and Travis who showed up; the rest of the family was coming from different areas of the park. Mom and Sam gave us the backpacks to hold while they rode Big Thunder. It took them about 15 minutes, and it was nice to just sit and rest in the shade while they rode. Once they got off the ride they came to sit with us while we waited for Lindsey, Nathan, and Scott to get there. We recounted our Gaston experience to them, and they were really bummed that they hadn't been there to see it!
Before long everyone else showed up, and we were together again! Once we were all there, we had to discuss our plans. After much discussion, we finally decided that we would do a couple of things in Adventureland, including going up the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House where we were going to recreate an old photo.
With our plans decided, we headed off to Adventureland! The first thing we did was Pirates. That had about a 20 minute wait. The little drop on the ride didn't bother any of the kids, and they love pirates, so they really loved the ride! After that we watched the Enchanted Tiki Room, and we only had to wait about 10 minutes until the next show. The show was cute as always, and the kids thought all the effects were really cool. Next it was time for the tree house! Our mission was to recreate a photo that we took there about 10 or so years ago. I don't have a digital copy of the original photo, but if I can find it I'll scan it and edit it in later. This is what the new copy looks like.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv36865%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A73347nu0mrj

It's not an exact match, but we got it pretty close. We had to do it quick because there were people behind us, but they were gracious. We went pretty quickly through the rest of the tree house, and we made our way out. We figured since we were all together, now would be a good time to go get our family picture taken on Main Street. So, the kids climbed in their strollers and we started making our way over there. We got a little sidetracked, though, because some people needed to stop at the bathroom. The rest of us just went to Main Street to wait. Everyone else made it back except for Adam, who had both Jack and Max in the bathroom. We waited about 10 minutes for them, but the other kids were getting antsy, so we decided to just go ahead and do the pictures. We figured we could try to get another one with everybody later at night when the castle was light up.
With a group our size it was a little tricky figuring out where to put everyone, but after just a little finagling we got everyone set up. We first took one with the "originals", which was Mom, Dad, and the 7 kids.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C898%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A3787347nu0mrj

It was almost perfect. The only person who was missing was our oldest sister, Courtney, who wasn't able to make this trip. After that we took one with everyone (save Adam, Jack, and Max).
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C879%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A3786347nu0mrj

The only bummer about these photos are the harsh shadows, but other than that they came out pretty well.
Adam got back with the boys pretty much right after we finished with the photos, but that was okay. We took a minute to discuss what we wanted to do next, and we decided that the riverboat would be a fun thing to do together! So, we headed towards Liberty Square. The boat departs every half hour on the hour and half hour, and we got there right around 4:15. While we waited Maddie wanted to take pictures with me.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv36392%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A78347nu0mrj

The boat arrived right on time at 4:30, and once we boarded we headed straight for the top deck. We had a nice relaxing ride around the river, and the kids thought all the animatronics and different things to look at on the way were really cool.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3576%3B%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A97347nu0mrj

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3C5%3C4%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A9%3A347nu0mrj

We made it all the way around, and by the time we were docked and made it off the boat, it was right around 5:00. We decided that now would be a good time to go get dinner, so we had to pick a place to eat. Nobody had eaten at Pecos Bill's for lunch, so we decided to go there. Frontierland is right there next to Liberty Square, so it wasn't too far of a walk. Once we got there we went through the whole ordeal of everyone deciding what they want. Once that was settled, some of us took the kids to go find seats while the others ordered the food. It wasn't too crowded in there, so it wasn't long before they were back with our food! Since it was still before 5:30, there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant, which was nice. We had a really nice meal, and it was great to be able to just sit down with everyone for a while. The food was good too, of course. I think probably half of us got pulled pork sandwiches and the other half got hamburgers.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv34848%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A9%3B347nu0mrj

The only problem we had was with Sam's sandwich. He was about half way through eating his pulled pork sandwich when he discovered that there was a piece of plastic mixed in with the meat. We figured it was probably part of the bag that the pork comes in or something. Now, we're normally not people to complain, but in this instance Sam took the sandwich back to the counter to let them know. They apologized and gave him a whole new sandwich and french fries free of charge, which was very sweet of them.
Once that was taken care of and we were all finished eating, a few of us went in separate directions. We were splitting up at this point, but we were meeting up later on Main Street to try to get that family photo again. Everyone headed out in different directions, and we set off to Fantasyland to use our Mine Train FastPasses! Nathan and Amy were also heading to Fantasyland, but not to ride Mine Train. We made it over there and got in line. It didn't take too long, and we had a very fun ride! Once we got off, Mom had to go to the bathroom, so we waited for her outside the ride. I took pictures, of course.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv33356%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A%3A6347nu0mrj

Once Mom got back, we met back up with Nathan and Amy. We decided to ride the carousel since it was right there and the line was fairly short. It ended up taking about 15 minutes, and we had a fun ride!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3A557%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A%3B4347nu0mrj

(I honestly can't handle their faces in this picture.)
After that we decided to do Small World, which also had about a 15 minute wait.
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3A%3A65%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A%3B%3A%3B8347nu0mrj

Once we got off of that, we called everyone up to see where they were. They were all ready to head over to Main Street to try our family photo again! So, we headed over to meet them there. Within a few minutes everyone arrived, and we started figuring out how to arrange ourselves. The Photopass photographer was a great help with this. Once we got that all figured out, I'd say the photo turned out pretty good!
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv366%3A8%3Enu%3D539%3A%3E23%3B%3E256%3EWSNRCG%3D35%3B66%3A37%3A5347nu0mrj

Once we got the photo done, we all said our goodbyes for the day. We were heading home and so was Amy, Lindsey was heading to Tomorrowland to meet Buzz Lightyear, and Scott and Nathan had Wishes FastPasses. We headed out to the boat dock after saying goodbye. A boat came within 15 minutes, and after getting back and walking home, we got back to the RV around 7:45. We spent the rest of the night just relaxing, getting ready for bed, and preparing the stuff we would need in the morning. We got to bed around 9:00 with plans of going to Epcot with Scott and Nathan. We had an amazing Magic Kingdom family day!

Another great MK day! Such fun to have the whole family together! It's so true what you said about ETWB - some kids are totally shy and some jump right in. When I went with my DD, she was shy at first, but then got into it. She wished later that she had been bolder at the start because she was sad that she didn't get a "bigger" part. Next time for sure! Pin trading is so much fun...I'm glad we started doing it on our last trip...you must have gotten to know a few CM's by the end of your long trip.
Yeah, it's a ton of fun! There were a handful of CM's that we became close with by the end of the trip, and more that were just acquaintances!

That opening show looks awesome. I've not managed to catch it yet, but hopefully someday!

How much do they charge to get pixie dusted?

I agree with your implication that for those travelling without children, Enchanted Tales with Belle is not so interesting.

Very special to have your whole family at MK!
It is totally worth it to get up early for the welcome show! It's so amazing.

Pixie dusting comes absolutely free of charge! All you have to do is ask one of the CM's in either the Castle Couture or Sir Mickey shop and they will be happy to sprinkle you with glitter.

How is your family's house-hunting going?
It's been going very well! That's part of the reason it's been a while since I updated. We've actually found a place, so we've been going through the whole process of actually buying the house, which is quite lengthy.
