We made our way towards security as quickly as possible. We couldn't wait to board! So exciting to finally be there!

Time to get out our passports and get in line

Here's a tip - make sure you know what your room number is as they ask for it to look you up when you come through the line. No matter how many times I had looked it up prior to the trip I blanked out!

Once our passports/room # was checked we were in! Off to go through security!

As we were headed in, one of the security officers noticed me taking pics and told us to head up the staircase you see on the left to the 2nd level to get the best view

There she is!

Through security, up the escalator, and then we were in!

It's incredible how happy a giant white glove can make me - loved seeing the cast member directing everyone to check in with one on

Hooray - we are now silver - our friends are gold - so we entered the Castaway Club check in

We were checked into the cruise in no time.

We checked into possible upgrades but decided the price just wasn't worth it for the few they had available. The cruise was pretty much sold out. There were maybe 2 or 3 verandah rooms free and i believe on concierge suite. We would've had to split up to upgrade to a verandah so we decided to keep our adjoining inside staterooms we already had.

Last cruise we had rushed onto the ship so fast that I totally missed the photo op in front of the model cruise ship with Mickey or Minnie. I had put this at the top of our must do list for this cruise. Luckily even though we could've boarded right away (we had the earliest boarding time) everyone was a good sport and humored me waiting in the looooong line to see what ended up being Mickey. Minnie traded out the family after us.

Do you have to go to the Check In line if you already did the online check in??

Yes we did still have to go to the check in line but it is a very fast process.

Thank you! We returned the car at the port rental station and then rode the free shuttle from the rental car location to the port. It was very easy and we are going to do it again next cruise. It was cheaper and easier than the DCL transfers for us.

We had decided to book an interior stateroom this trip. Since it was just the two of us and it wasn't a 7 day cruise I figured that we would be fine on space and without a verandah. It worked out just fine. I think it would be a bit cramped with 4 but for 2 it was great!

The desk area was plenty spacious and it had the same couch and storage trunk as our verandah room on the Fantasy previously. The magical porthole was super fun.

You can see the glasses, ice bucket, wave phones, and plenty of outlets along with the paperwork they leave

The tv has lots of helpful info as well as tons of movies, etc.

We had our first sighting of a character in the magical porthole. they were hard to catch in pics.

and then the Tangled lanterns went by - so cute!

After we checked out the room we got ready to head to the muster drill. We lucked out with an indoor location in one of the lounges. Once that was over we were officially free to start our cruise! We decided to explore the ship a bit more as we made our way to the sail away deck party. First up, Andy wanted a picture with Donald who is his absolute favorite character. I absolutely love the staircases on the ship - they are so beautiful!

And then there it was! The sail away party!

The characters were dancing with the cast members and you could really feel the anticipation in the air.

it was pretty much packed throughout the whole area

We watched the show for a bit then decided to walk the deck which was pretty empty while the party was going on

the front of the ship. Let's get this party started and head on out!

By then it was time for a few departing selfies as we headed off on our adventure!

hmmmmmm.....I think Tim found the bar!

But seeing as we were officially on vacation and it had been a couple of hours since we had eaten a buffet, we decided to hit the fast food area for a snack to hold us over til dinner. We had chosen late seating this cruise and were excited to compare it to early. More on that subject later!

We found all the usual foods such as pizza, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc.

We were quickly greeted with a smile and placed our orders

I decided to go with a hot dog and Andy went with a burger and fries. They were really quite tasty and we enjoyed it all while sitting a bit and looking over the navigator.

Now that I look at this closer pic I notice that Andy had grabbed a honey mustard for his fries. yummo!

Deb had a couple slices of pizza and I think Tim chose a couple chicken sandwiches

Everyone was happy with their choices.

They have a nearby self serve beverage area where you can get unlimited soda, tea, coffee, etc.

They also have a bar area near the hot tub

After our 2nd lunch, we decided to wander around a bit more. Right outside the Disney theater is preludes where you get all the snacks you might want for your movie. Popcorn, candy, etc. There is a charge for these items.

We wandered through the gift shops to see what they might have

There is SO MUCH to choose from

I spy a cute little tervis that I wish i would have picked up! ugh! but i had set my sights on a Castaway Cay tervis.

Outside the shops Andy stopped for a photo with the golden Mickey statue

Then we ventured into the jewelry shop to see what they had for Pandora and Alex and Ani. It was going to be really hard to decide what souvenirs to choose this trip!

After we finished all of our window shopping we decided to head back to the room to get ready for our first dinner! Woo hoo!

Thank you for hanging in there and reading along!!! Unfortunately I've been sidetracked by 2 major surgeries in the past few months but I'm getting back in the swing of things! I need to finish this trip report before our next cruise on the Fantasy in February! More coming up!

When we were walking to dinner there were entertainers out in front of the main dining room. This is one of the things I love about Disney is the little touches that really make it special.

We were led to our table right away. Table 81.

I love how the napkins are folded like little shirts. so cute!

Our assistant server Simone came around to take our drink orders

while we looked over the menus and made our selections

We started off with some escargot and some brie as well as diet cokes. The bread stick is tasty dipped in the garlic/butter type sauce the escargot are in.

followed by soup

The onto beef with potatoes

and I believe these were lobster raviolis to share

followed up with desert

The sundaes are always delicious!

By now it was time to roll ourselves back to our room where we found this little guy. We had an AMAZING first day on the ship and all decided it was time for some sleep.

I miss finding these little "sleepy" chocolates every night!

Along with the Navigators packed full of activities for everyone to enjoy

The next morning we were up bright and early as it was our day to be in port in Nassau and we had booked a beach day excursion through Disney at Atlantis. We had debated a great deal about what we wanted to do in Nassau. I know many people choose to stay on the ship but we wanted to experience it at least once to see how it went. We did agree that it would be best to book some type of excursion to do so and finally settled on the beach day. I believe it was $99 per person.

We headed up to Cabana's to enjoy some breakfast as we were pulling into Nassau.

It was really pretty.

Andy found a plate full of scrambled eggs and Mickey waffles

Once we finished breakfast we headed up onto deck to take in the sights.

We passed the Goofy's sport area

There was also a Carnival ship pulling into port

Through the mini golf area

And there it was! Atlantis in the distance

We kept making our way towards the front of the ship

The golf course is really neat

Into port we pulled

We all agreed that the Disney Dream ship was so beautiful compared with the other ships in port.

We hung out for a while before heading down to meet up for our excursion.

We made our way past the aqua duck - it's SO MUCH FUN!

There were a few people settled in for a movie on deck

They are always cleaning/redoing the ship

The adults area was empty

Currents was closed

We took a few more pics - it was absolutely beautiful, perfect day

Cozy lounge chairs were all empty as well

How cute is this? Looks like a Mickey to me and what a beautiful bench!

Shuffleboard was in full swing

We finally made our way to the D Lounge to meet up for our excursion.

We signed in with the cast members

We got all the necessary paperwork, wrist bands, etc

The process was fairly easy. I'll be honest I was nervous it would take forever but before too long we were making our way off the ship.

We were in the Bahamas! Woo hoo!!

We had a bit of a walk to where we would pick up our ride to Atlantis

I can't even imagine how fabulous a weeks stay at Atlantis would be!!! It is stunningly beautiful and I will never forget it! That is so sweet about Monty, what wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing that!

and we were there! Finally! Atlantis! Something I really thought I'd probably only see on t.v. Quite honestly, if it weren't for cruising I doubt I would've ever seen it. So happy we did!

I've never seen anything quite like Atlantis.

Everything was very pretty. I am obsessed with palm trees and they were everywhere along with tons of other vegetation.

I really LOVED the huge seahorses that were along the sides of the walkways

So far we were enjoying every second

This is where I will make an observation. There is walking. A LOT of walking. We did not mind at all but I could truly see how this would be way too much walking for some people. Especially in the heat. We were still making our way to the beach area.
