How great it is to get up in the morning and feel warm! My friends and I decided to drive over to the Animal Kingdom for a fun day. We walked to the Kilimanjaro Safari and get our fast pass, Disney's great idea which I had to explain to my friends. Then we off to see "Tough to be a Bug", I laughed and enjoyed the reaction of my friends to the interaction of the bugs. Then it was time for our safari ride. The stand-by line was long with all the soccer teams visiting from Brazil, but we just proceeded to the front of the groups. It was a great safari ride with a lot of animals walking around and even coming right up to the truck we were in - I've never seen that many out and about. We had a great tour guide who made us all laugh throughtout the ride. Once our safari was over we took in some of the sights along the way out and talked about our next destination. The day was already warming up so we decided to take it slow so we wouldn't get tired for tonight. So, we strolled over to Tarzan Rocks - they really put on a great show! And we had great seats, center section, second row - could take it all in. After Tarzan rocked us all, we decided to walk over and wait for the Festival of the Lion King. Another must if you enjoy the shows. After that, it was time to go back to the room and rest up for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We decided to snack on some snacks and rest a bit - it started to rain and it wasn't looking too great weatherwise. But one of the CM's at the General Store at OKW said it wouldn't rain on our party so we hoped for the best. After a bit we decided to take our ponchos and umbrellas to chase away the rain, and by the time we got to the Magic Kingdom, the rain had let up. It was a little damp with a sprinkle now and then but nothing to ruin the night. The Christmas lights and music everywhere brought tears to my eyes and my friends and I took it all in as we walked down Main Street. One of our first destinations, was the show "Twas the Night before Christmas" over next to the Buzz Lightyear ride. We enjoyed the show and followed the crowd into Buzz Lightyear, one of our favorite rides. We had a blast, you could say. LOL. Then there was a cute show when we came out with some of Santa's toys singing a different version of Christmas tunes with a bit of rap in the tunes. They were entertaining. Rest time with a look at the brochure to decide our next destination - we strolled over to "Small World" and jumped on a boat, then over to see the show at the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon - a Wild West Christmas Show - which was very well done. My friend's DH especially liked the showgirls! Then it was picture time, followed by the fireworks and parade and not to miss my "Country Bears" with their rendition of Christmas music. Finally we decided to stroll about the shops on Main Street and sit for a bit near the big tree which was so pretty with the snow falling on Main Street. Finally tiring out, it was time to head back to OKW for a night's rest.
