I thought they were all auctioned off, or is the tour still going on after all this time?

I think the tour ends in NYC where they get auctioned. If I recall, that was to happen sometime this summer.

Yes, they are going to be auctioned off this summer. A friend told me last night some of them are going to be at the Disney store and others she thought were going to be around NYC. I'm going to call the Disney store in NYC later today and find out when. If I find an answer, I'll post again this afternoon. I want to see those statues! I need my fix inbetween trips!

I read in the paper that they will be auctioned off at Sotheby's in Manhattan this summer....one of the NYC newspapers had a small advertisement from Sotheby's with a link to its website www.sothebys.com - to get a catalog and a commemrative (sp??) pin - I went on quickly but saw no link to the Mickey statues...

I believe there are about 10 Mickey's that are headed to the World of Disney Store on 55th and 5th Avenue in NYC on August 1st. They are having a big celebration. Mickey is going to be there and there may even be some celebrities who designed the Mickey's there as well. They will be there until September 5th when Mickey will return and say farewell and they will be auctioned at Sotheby's. As for a side note....they will also be accompanied by limited edition pins that are exclusive to the store.

Now it makes sense!! I had heard that they were releasing a bunch of pins on August 1st, but couldn't figure out what they could be.
This is exciting! I think I'm on vacation that week so I'll be able to get there early. Thanks for the information!!!!!

Since November 2003, 75 uniquely designed Mickey Mouse statues have traveled the United States in honor of Mickey Mouse's 75th anniversary. The "Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations" statues have now finished touring the United States, and will be auctioned at Sotheby's auction house on September 27, with the proceeds benefiting multiple charities.
The statues, which measure 6-feet-tall and weigh 700 pounds each, were designed by famous athletes, artists and celebrities, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Ellen DeGeneres, James Gandolfini, Tom Hanks, Michelle Kwan and Kelly Ripa. Read more about the auctions on Southebys.com If you pre-order the auction catalog for $41.00, the first 5,000 catalogue orders will also include a free, limited-edition commemorative pin featuring the 75th Anniversary Mickey engraved with edition number and sale information.

Statue #76
There really are 76 Mickeys. I went to see them in DC and they added a special one for DC with pictures of the city on it. I took pictures with each of them and then counted and found out that I was one short. So I went to the website and there was one about chocolate that was not included in the DC display. Anybody know anything about statue #76?
