I am from the east coast, so I have been to WDW many many times, but I now go to DL 1-2X a year.

My special Disney DL ride is the Casey Junior Train. Riding in the Monkey or Wild animal cage car. I hear that Dumbo music, and sing along, and it is special to me.....

Yes, I love the other rides too, all the mountains, HM and Pirates too.

Pirates! It's our first ride on every trip & no matter how many times we ride it (multiple times a day), I always find some amazing detail that I didn't notice before.

In general, I would say Pirates, but Splash Mountain has a special significance for me. I've been to Disneyland three times since 2006, but before that it had been nine years and I really, really missed it. We took our six-year-old son in 2006, and the first ride we rode was Splash Mountain. I'll never forget dropping down into the mountain, seeing all the critters, the beautiful colors, feeling the cool water, and hearing them singing, "How do you do?" I remember thinking, "I'm here. I can't believe I'm actually here!" and I had the biggest, silliest grin on my face I've probably ever had. Each time I've ridden it since, I think exactly the same thing. I try to make it one of the first rides I go on, and one of the last.

I'm going to be there on Friday! Woo hoo!

That's a great story. I love Splash as well and can't miss it when I go. I've heard some not so good things about it lately, so would you mind letting us know how it looks after you ride it? Whenever you get the chance.

I don't know that I can really pin it down to just one ride. I agree with many of the rides mentioned, but have to add Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room to the list. Disney would just not be the same without these, POTC, HM and Dumbo. If it didn't have to be just one, then I too have to go with IASW. It just has Walt all over it.

I will definitely be riding it this upcoming January when I take my nephew and SIL. He will love it and, even though she's never been, SIL knows it's a Disneyland classic and can't miss it.
It's certainly not a thrilling ride. You can ride similar things at parking lot carnivals any time. For me it's about the view from the ride, as opposed to the ride itself. Fantasyland is the heart and soul of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. And there's nothing like taking it all in from up there.

I actually wanted to hate the new Dumbo at WDW for that reason, since it's now off to the side apart from Fantasyland. Dang them for making it so freaking charming and easier to ride by adding a second one!

But still, I'm so glad we get to visit Disneyland and ride it in its original form again.

At the moment my favourite attraction is the disboards on the days they make changes to the Fastpass+ rules. Now that can be a rollercoaster of a ride lol.

If I had to pick one ride, it would be Small World. However, to me the quintessential Disney experience is the park atmosphere. The entertainment which is unlike any other theme park. The Dapper Dans on Main Street. The Bootleggers in New Orleans Square. Billy Hill and the Hillbillies in Frontierland. All this screams Disney to me more than any one ride ever could.

I'd like to second the vote for Walt's Fire Engine. That's pretty spectacular as well.

DisneyLand = Railroad (would not be Disneyland without the train) & Pirates
DCA = Soarin

For me, it's a tie between Dumbo and the TeaCups.

They were all I had ever seen about Disneyland on tv growing up in Australia so that is what symbolizes it for me.

They are also the first two rides my daughter and I rode when we finally reached the Happiest place on Earth.

I may or may not have cried a little on Dumbo when it finally hit me that my childhood dream had come true and I had also made my daughters childhood dream come true. Pure joy.

I do love the train! What an awesome thing. I mean, when you're tired and need a rest, just hop on the train and ride around as many times as you want! It's relaxing AND fun!
