Cutting through the Grand California?

I can't remember, do you have to be a Grand CA guest to use their entrance? How about exiting the park that way?

The GCH entrance to DCA is only for guests staying onsite (any of the 3 Disney hotels), but generally this is only enforced early in the morning. Anyone may exit through the GCH.

Not really. They also enforce it after early entry (aka Extra Magic Hour) for the first hour or two of the morning. And for non-EMH day same thing.

There is no problem exiting here.

As far as entrance goes if you have spent money at the hotel they also should let you through. Save your receipt for Whitewater Snacks.

Unless you're real close to the front of the line it's better to be at the main entrance for rope-drop anyway.

Last Sept. I used the GCA entrance. I wanted to get my room key out before I placed my travel bag on the "search table". The CM said not to bother that they only require a room key from PPH, DLH, or GCH before 11:00 am.

I have witnessed guests being turned back to enter via the regular lines. IMHO I think guests that eat at the character buffet should get to use the "secret" entrance. Just seems like the neighborly thing to do .

Any how that is all I know first hand.

I've had to show a receipt to get back in after 11:00 through that entrance

I agree with the PP who suggested using the main entrance instead. We showed up 30 minutes before park opening and the line went from the turnstiles, behind White Water Snacks and ended at Storyteller's. Our friends went to the main gate and were on their 3rd ride by the time we met up.

They do allow guests that eat at the character buffet to use the hotel's entrance ... just show them your receipt ... we do this all the time.

Absolutely.

If you're right up at the front (which can mean lining up nearly an hour before the entrance opens) AND you have intentions of riding Grizzly, go for that entrance.

If you're wanting Carsland and you are NOT right up front just ignore their entrance. Instead, once you've entered the main doors of the Grand turn left down the hallway towards DTD. Once you're in DTD turn right, get to bag check, and you'll be in the esplanade where you can get your choice of MANY turnstiles, not just 2 or 3. And you'll have an easier time getting to RSR, bug's land, TOT, Monsters, Soarin', etc.

For the price premium of the GCH, they should limit the entrance to guests of that hotel only.

They should stop people from PPH from cutting through the property and really just shun anyone who isn't GCH royalty from entering the premises. :-)

Ack! Really? We didn't stay there but enjoyed visiting the lobby and the entrance to DCA was nice for us. I understand them limiting it at early morning busy times, but middle of the afternoon is a bit silly.

Fair enough. The early morning congestion makes it a non-feature.
