Nothing to crash into? How about the water?

I definitely think government regulations would help. There would actually be some kind of safety standards to go by.

I'd venture to say you have just as good, if not better chance of dying in a car accident...government regulations and all.

i was kinda wondering about the one post of people crashing into buildings. i have only seen parasailing at a handful of places but all were building-free. so where would something like that happen?

i understand the operator has to be approved by Disney. sometimes i wonder if Disney may be more strict than the government anyway, i mean as far as safety goes and such. i would think Disney keeps a good eye on things.

This case was in the Florida panhandle. But at many places - myrtle beach, etc. - while you ate on the water, if the cord breaks and a sudden wind blows up, you are at the mercy of the wind and yes, it can keep you up enough and blow you far enough that you aren't just drifting down to the water.

Instead of the beach, a better observation point might be the top deck of the ship. You could hang out at the marina until they board the parasailing boat, then go back to the ship to watch. Our parasailing was done on the other side of the ship, away from the beaches.
