And if you are a current member and add on 50 or more points, you get $7pp off...was for BWV and BCV so I think it would be for SSR as well.

FYI there's a $7 discount for 50+ pts for AKL as well. Just checked in Friday last week about it. ($143/pt for 50 pts.)

Have you looked at re-sales yet? Are you looking for just a small add on? If not, SSR is averaging about $45 less pp through re-sale.

Try $60 less per point. OP, please think hard before buying SSR direct. If you buy 100 points you lose $6000 dollars as soon as you purchase.

Based on the past 5 months and the 27 resale SSR contracts that passed, SSR resale is averaging $69.30 a point.

Here are the numbers based on info in this thread.

NEW MEMBER:

$130 direct - $69.30 resale = $60.70 savings per point

100 points saving = $6,070 (could be used to buy 87 "more" resale points)
200 points saving = $12,140 (could be used to buy 175 "more" resale points)
300 points saving = $18,210 (could be used to buy 262 "more" resale points)

ADDON:

$123 direct - $69.30 resale = $53.70 savings per point

100 points saving = $5,370 (could be used to buy 77 "more" resale points)
200 points saving = $10,740 (could be used to buy 154 "more" resale points)
300 points saving = $16,110 (could be used to buy 232 "more" resale points)

Don't forget that closing costs are about $200 less when buying direct...on a 50 point add on that is $4pp and 50 pointers via resale go for more than the average mentioned above.

Also have a look at the point charts for cruises and other exchanges available only to direct purchasers. They are so high that they are almost always a bad value. And with the money you could save buying resale you can still book a lot of cruises for cash AND still use your points for DVC reservations.

We just added on 30 points direct to our original SSR resale contract. It was better for us because
A. It was not a stripped contract and had all 2013 points forward and
B. We got to stick with our same use year.
Waiting for such a small amount of points with the right use year resale could have taken forever.

This makes a little more sense as lower point contracts are harder to find and cost mor resale.

And lower point contracts are more expensive per point. I'd say right now a 50 pt contract at SSR is probably around $80 a point. Still beats $130!

To be honest, we have 2 different use years (different resorts also) and it is really now an issue.

We bought, at SSR, in Jan 2014, w/a discount, $123.00 per point, through Disney. They adjusted the sale to our current UY and banked the points, even though our banking window had closed.
