which night for MNSSHP

I have a choice between MNSSHP on 10/11 (our first full day in WDW) or 10/17 (the 2nd to last night of our trip). Any thoughts on which on would be best? I know Friday is probably a bit more crowded. I'm just worried that DD8 and DS6 may be too tired to stay up so late toward the end of our trip.

I would definitely go 10/17 - two big reasons:

1. if you're up late on your first night, they will be tired for the next morning, and it may take a few days to recover... I'd rather them be tired at the end of their trip than at the beginning.

2. Yes, 10/17 will be much less crowded.

The only thing that bums me out about that is the following day is our last day in the parks. I'm thinking it would be best to sleep in the morning after MNSSHP. That means we won't get a full park day on our last day.

Ah, I thought the last night meant last park day as well.... I don't know, obviously your call We are going on our last night... sleeping in and grabbing a late character breakfast before departing.

If you plan on a full park day, then you might be right...

I'm thinking there won't be a whole lot we need to get done on that last day. I was planning to schedule it in as an MK day, but we'll probably use it as day to do whatever we want to do again. Maybe it won't be a big deal to sleep late that last full day.

I would definitely go Oct. 17 if it means avoiding a more crowded park on the 11th.

You can't predict for certain which day your kids will be more tired. But You can predict crowds if you are talking about weekend versus weekday.

Wait....I just had another thought.

I know I will be contradicting myself now, but why not buy tickets for the first night (the 11th). If you truly, truly love it you can always go again on the 17th (if tickets are still available).

That's what I would do!

I would have to say go with the second last night.
By then yes, they will be tired, but there's less chance of them being exhausted the entire week from it, and the crowds will be lower.

Would a Fri night by more busy then a Tues or Thurs night for the MNSSHP? I am curious about this as well?

Is a Tues night in the cards for you?

From what I've read it will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

I would not go the Friday of Columbus Day weekend if I had the option to go later on a Tuesday.

I've done a Tuesday and Friday in same week and there's a huge crowd difference.

Yikes!!! That is the day when we are going! We are flying down for the weekend, so it's the only day we can go. Oh well! Just happy to go!

Our first day is a Tuesday. We arrive at noon expect to be at BCV by 2p and we picked that 1st day for MNSSHP. We r not worried about being tired because we have Blizzard Beach planned for Day 2 and it doesn't open until 10a. With this strategy we can get quite a few rides at MK out of the way at MNSSHP so our full day later in the week (yes on an EMH morning) will be efficient and relaxed!
