Do you still have to give a fingerprint? If not why not? Do they store a photo for ID instead or something? ( in other words what stops others using my new PAP )

Can this be my key to the world at my DVC resort as well?

Finally lol... I am disabled is there a wide gap does anyone know between the machines?

Still a finger scan--that isn't going away.

Yes, there are fingerprint scanners at every RFID scanner.

No, same as before. You're AP will remain separate from your KTTW until the MagicBands are rolled out. The new RFID APs function pretty much like the old ones (same FP, they stay separate from KTTW, etc.).

There is plenty of room between the RFID scanners, much more than the legacy turnstiles.

Do we know yet when Annual Passholders will be able to get these? I'll be in WDW 5/05 to 5/12, will I be able to get them?

We don't know when ANYONE will get them.

The latest indicates when they DO make them available, AP holders will be able to go online and choose their colors and they will be shipped. But there is no time frame specified.

They have not said when they will start using them, probably not before your date. You can get the RFID card to use the new turnstiles.

We just exchanged ours last week. Yes you still have to do a fingerprint if adult (kids don't have to). That is the unique identifier. They will have you test it before you leave the odyssey. We still had separate KTTW for room and charging though...

Not a fingerprint, biometric reading. Actually, kids (depending on age obviously) do biometrics with the new touch-point entries. The new touch-point biometric scanners will read down to about 5 or 6 year old fingers a lot of the time where the legacy turnstile readers were only good down to about 10 years old depending on the finger size.

Are you sure these scanners are any different than the current ones? They looked like they just put the old ones in the new stands.

I HAVE heard that kids were now doing finger scans, but I'm not sure it's been consistently used either.

The problem with most biometric finger scans in children is that the fingerprint is still somewhat in flux, making the scanner less accurate.
