Can I print photos from Photopass Plus CD at home? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We have rarely used Photopass but have a special family trip coming in January so I'm thinking about paying for Photopass Plus. The website says I'll be able to take the completed CD to any photo processor to have prints made. Does that mean I won't be able to print them myself at home?

When DD got married we learned about that issue but found a photographer who would give us the rights & files in the correct format to print ourselves. It's much more convenient to be able to print whichever we want, whenever we want it!

You can print them at home. It's just a regular CD you get with all your images so you can use it as you would any CD.

A little tip: First thing I do when I get mine is to transfer all the images onto a USB stick. CD's are a bit slow to work with.

I also make folders on the USB (I do one per park and then sub folders within each because we usually have around 2000 photos) - it makes them a LOT easier to find when you're looking for something 6 months later and it's much faster to work with than doing it directly from the slow CD drive

Thank you! That's exactly what I wanted to know. A lot of the wedding photographers said they would give us a CD with negatives that we would have to have printed professionally.

And thanks for the tips on organization. I'll definitely transfer to a flash drive when I get the CD. But I don't normally get beyond transferring photos from camera to the computer and naming the entire file!

I can understand a wedding photographer wanting you to have their images professionally printed because the overall finish is a reflection on their work.

Photopass is different and you are free to print them yourself or have them done

Once you've started organizing your files, you won't look back
