A couple of things here... What do you consider a last-minute trip? For DVC, last-minute can mean three or four months out.

If your yearly trip costs 100 points at BWV and 150 points at GFV, then you could buy 50 BWV points and 75 GFV points and bank/borrow every other year to alternate where you stay each year.
