Good Morning Team!

Elizabeth - I am hanging in there! Good luck continuing to avoid fast food resturants!

Kipp - Sounds like you have picked the bike you want, just need to find it now - good luck!

AFM - Survived another PT session! I am now on weaker pain killers, and I am feeling it! Tomorrow I get the staples pulled out, then the PT is really going to crank things up - great! (sarcastic)

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Thanks to you and to Rick! Ido need to channel that Gods of Fire music. Got the staples out of my knees , now I just have steri-strips across each knee. I am doing good about my exercises, will just miss one session today, but will get in the other 2. The reward is being able to sit with ice on my knees!

Frustration starts in... once again, no movement on weight.
245 lbs - same as last 2 weeks

Exercise
Completing a weekly workout challenge = 0
1 hours of exercise = 1 point

Healthy eating
Drinking 8 glasses of water a day = 2 points
Trying a new healthy food or recipe for the week = 0
Taking a multivitamin daily = 6 points
Eating five servings of fruits and veggies daily = 0 points
Eating two servings of dairy a daily = 2 points

Last Saturday I had a VERY stressful work day and that has led to a VERY stressful work week. (We had a test at a major customer go very wrong early last Saturday morning and we've had to fix it this week).

My calf tightened up and it felt as if I had aggravated the achillies. Of course my neck and back have been very tight too. I was limping around at work Monday and managed to see the doc briefly "at lunch" on Tuesday.

It's the Flexor hallucis longus muscle (FHL). It's the muscle that is basically 1/2 of the control for your big toe. She pressed into my calf and the arch of my foot and it about sent me through the roof. This was also the area that I was having so much trouble with when we were doing the Monumental 1/2.

I now have a set of stretches that I have to do even before I get out of bed which have already seem to be helping. I've also been trying to massage these areas, the calf are is very difficult due to how deep this muscle is in the calf area (I've also got very large calves...). The arch area is much easier to take care of. An old golf ball I roll around on the floor with my foot.

No muscle relaxers though... she doesn't want me to tear something running while I'm so tight. I'm also not to take more than 2 ibuprofen at a time... (you mean that's all you're supposed to take a time??!!??) "Only take them as stated in the DIRECTIONS." *sigh*

So I've not run since last Thursday. It's also no Kinvara's for a while for me. She want's me to keep in my more cushioned shoes for a while before I attempt getting back into them.

I'm going to get back on the treadmill-o-doom Sunday and see how things go. Once I'm going again, I'm to stop for a bit every 20 minutes to check and see how everything feels and do a couple of light stretches. One has me try and angle my toes up with a wall or curb if I'm outside and the 2nd is a standard calf stretch that I normally do after runs.

I'm hoping that when my new shoes arrive Monday, I'll get into a better mood (Got a pair of New Balance 870v2's on liquidation from Running Warehouse).

Good Morning Team!

Kipp - Hope the stretches help you, and that things calm down at work.

Good luck to all of you who are racing this weekend!

AFM - My weight is slowly coming back down, apparently, I need to wait until my body has decided that I am not dying and releases it's hold on the extra fluid. I am down to 156.5, so more than my original start, but down a few pounds from last Fri.

I will claim points for water 7 pts, dairy, 7 pts, and exercise 14 pts, for total of 28 pts, I m still not eating enough for 5 fruits and veggies a day. I do about 2 hours a day in PT exercises, I am counting that as my exercise, although I sometimes feel that getting dressed in the morning takes more energy than a 10 miles bike ride!

Pixie Dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team,

The 2nd test went well (EARLY) this morning. I was up at 4am to be on site at 6am. Just got back home at 10:30... so I'm rather tired

So 2 out of my 3 nasty projects at work are now DONE! So, yes, a great big load has been lifted! Yea!

Kipp: That sounds like a Disney 5K race! Did you get a medal? Seriously, glad to hear you are digging out of that project workload.

I really need to do something to kick start my diet. Of course, it isn't helped by my eating habits. While last night's dinner was homemade, it was high in all the bad stuff. The only thing positive about it was that the family was happy and enjoying eating together. Will try to be better today. Heading to the gym at 6 this morning to get in 3 miles before work. I have only 45 minutes to check in, find a free machine, and get working so my pace better be quick!

Enjoy the day, all!

I am not sure what the deal is, but last week I had no motivation to do anything. Part of it was due to the stress of Ryan breaking his wrist and having surgery (he is doing fine thankfully). But, I have been feeling very tired. I didn't want to get up and exercise (I got in only 7.5 miles for the week). I ate a lot of junk.

I need a 'jumpstart'! Anybody got jumper cables?
