Cost of points through DVC

Hi folks,

A while ago someone posted a link to the current cost of the points through DVC at each of the resorts. We own at BWV, VB and OKW. I am looking to add on at one of those resorts. I haven't contacted my guide yet. Since we do like to take cruises and sometimes use points for those as well as some other trades, I would want to add on from DVC direct rather than a resale at this time.

Can someone point me in the right direction with a link or maybe a reply?

Thanks!

I am not sure the price of the other resorts you mentioned, but I do know that BWV is $115/point and the link above is normally correct.

However, I just watched the webcast today, to see what the offers are- I am always curious. BWV actually qualified for the offer today, which included 2-5 5 day park hopper passes (depending on how many points you bought- started with 2 free at 100 points). And about $10 off per point if you bought a minimum of 50 points. It was listed as $500 credit off of 50 points, $1000 credit off 100 points, $1500 credit off 160, and so on (going up by 60). I can confirm this information, as I actually chatted with a guide who sent me the price sheets.

If you plan to buy BWV direct, now would seem to be a good time! Good luck!

Why would you buy direct if resale saves you so much money. Who is ever going to use your points for consierege or adventure. Wouldnt you just sell your points if you wanted to use these products.
Why pay 115 a point when you can pay 50-65 a point.

Just to mention that it appears that the price of BWV will be going up to $130 per point in a few weeks. If you feel you MUST buy direct you should probably do it sooner rather than later.

some people are willing to pay double to get exactly what they want...

i think they should be informed about resale but remember that if some people don't pay the higher direct prices, there would be no one to sell the cheaper resale contracts to value-minded people like us.

I would tend to agree with this. Mostly because my family go mostly off peak, but I have a question about this wisdom. Isn't it true that Disney can restrict a resale member at anytime to their home resort? What is the feeling about whether or not Disney will do this in the future to increase value on their direct sales?

If they did this they would have a mutiny on their hands. Also I don't think they want to. This would drop the value on all resorts and and you would have to think twice because you could never sell it. At least now if u want to sell it u can and will recoup some of your money back. They seem to control the resale through rofr.

i don't think direct is a good idea but i also don't think this will happen. they might change the booking windows to make it tougher on resale trades but (even if they can, and i'm not sure that's true) it would also damage the value of direct purchases. keep in mind that if i can't trade out of OKW, it gets harder for direct purchasers to get into OKW if they want to trade out. too much of a lose-lose.

Wow. We bought VGC points direct at the end of last year @$130. That's quite a hike!
