Breakfast at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace?
Which would you choose and why?

I would choose CP so that I'm already in the MK ready to experience the magic!

I have not done either but since we are on the DDP we are trying both. An early res at CP on our MK day and Chef Mickeys on our water park/downtown Disney day.

We did breakfast at CM and lunch at CP. when planing our next rip and offering both, my boys both said definitely CM. Characters are great at both, but they said that they enjoyed CM more. They are 9 and 6.

I think it just depends on who you want to see and where you want to be! I like CP for a bunch of reasons: better food (IMO), inside MK and Eeyore!
but my kids would probably vote CM because they like the characters more and they love the Contemporary.

We tried Chef Mickeys and loved it. This time we are trying CP because it's in MK. I think you will be happy with either one.

I agree. We had a good experience at both but there was just something magical about the Chef Mickey's experience for us that made it a must do character meal for our upcoming trip (hopefully it will be just as good the second time around ). The atmosphere, food, and character interaction was great for us. However, a pre-park opening ADR at Crystal Palace is really nice to have if you want to experience walking down an empty Main Street at the MK, the food is good (love the puffed french toast) and the characters are really cute too!

Plus I like the characters they have there and I love the breakfast lasagna! And I think CP is simply nicer as a restaurant than cm. |

Its a tradition of ours to go to the earliest reservation at the Crystal Palace. Love seeing main st empty. That said - we went to Chef Mickey's for dinner our last trip and the food was a disaster. Almost afraid to try it for breakfast

We've done both -- I agree that your plans for the day make a big difference in the choice. If you're going to be in the MK that day, I would definitely do CP (and for what it's worth, we do CP every trip but not CM -- we give the edge on the food to CP). If you've got other plans for the day, CM makes sense (it also works if you're staying at CR) since you can jump right on the monorail after breakfast.
If you want to see the CM characters, it's easy to find them at all the parks. The CP characters are still (I believe) primarily at AK but not necessarily the other parks (but check into that specifically as things do change).

We would choose Crystal Palace because
- Loveeeee Pooh - Crystal Palace is such a pretty place - Not quite as loud as Chef Mickeys - Defininite plus walking into MK at 8am when it's only you and your family (virtually) on Main Street.
