I did the PHM last weekend....and have been suffering withdrawals ever since. In Jan I fell and broke my left thumb and actually did the race in a brace. When I fell I 'pulled' something in my right shoulder. Well after the race, the only part of me that was sore was my shoulder. Went to the doc this week and they did MRI. Looks to be a torn rotator cuff and I have been referred to ortho doc. I am signed up for a 5 K in APril and a 10 K in May. I really do not want to be in Corral H again.

Question is.....any one ever have this type of injury and how will it affect my training?

And....who would have ever thought bowling was dangerous?

Oh no... The 280.00 is entry fee and a one day park ticket...hotel is definitely more than WDW and no military or airline discount so impressive per night !

Distance: I use the MapMyRun app on my iPhone (Verizon) and it tracks my distances very accurately. In 2012 I ran over 14 miles for the PHM (I also spent all of Epcot wondering "Where the $%#& is the end?!?" that year) due to starting back in corral D and doing a lot of weaving, since we were running at a B-to-A pace. This year I only ran about 13.5 but we started in A and I made a concerted effort not to weave, especially at the beginning. (I gained over half a mile during the first 5K.)

Crowds: The whole week after Presidents' Day will be crowded, with the holiday on one end and PHM on the other, plus that week is always school vacation week up here in the Northeast. You are better off before Presidents' Day or the week after PHM. Last year the crowds dropped noticeably on Mon and Tues post-race. (This year we weren't fortunate enough to stay past race-day.)

Anyone else have an experience with deferrals for runDisney races? I'm still wondering about how a team registration would be affected if one team member need a medical deferral. (I would hope the whole team could defer...) Anyone have just one member of their group need a deferral but try to get the whole group deferred? TIA!

PS: Yay for all the DDD'ers! C2C here we come!

I'm in for 2014. I'm on the every other year plan. I ran 2012 with 2 of my other BRF(best running friend). I temporarily had a lapse in running judgement and was planning to do the Full in January! Decided, I do not want to train for a Full. So, I shall be back for the Princess!!!

I am sooo not worthy...you are rocking to do DDD !

How do you do your long runs in the august heat here in TX...I'm thinking it will be early morning or TM ? This is the first time we will have to really suffer in August to train for a Sep Half.

Yeaaahhhhh. About that. I usually avoid running in August over 2 miles. Lol. So this will be new territory. I have a treadmill and do train long on it when I need to so I imagine it will be more tm than normal.

And early sat mornings I'll get the outside runs in.

Not in Texas, but in a year-round 90 degrees and humid climate and I've finally accepted the idea that it just isn't safe to train outside in heat like this. Two-three miles, fine. Anything longer and it just gets too messy. I do almost all my runs on the treadmill but will plan some of the weekend long ones outside. I'm 1/3 of the way through training for my June HM

I have noticed an increase in treadmill running coincides with a new knee pain :/ I haven't decided what to do about it yet. I only really noticed this week.

My treadmill is usually results on me staying slower than I normally run outside. Just too easy to stay comfortable on tm for me. So I have to mix up with some hard intervals.

But yeah- so hot even at 5am here.
