Okay ?? about using points from two different contracts that we own

We have 72 banked WLV points and we have 7 SSR. When booking a trip...do you just do separate bookings and then link together?? Of course we have current points too in each contract. Thanks

If your VWL and SSR contracts are under the same membership (same base contract number with different extensions such as 12345678.1, 12345678.2) you can just combine the points at 7 months out. For example, you could book a night that cost 12 points using the 7 SSR points and 5 of the VWL points, or whatever combination you like. Similarly if booking several nights, you just choose how many points you want to use from each contract.

If the contracts are under different memberships then you would either need to book whole nights from each contract and link them or transfer points from one contract to another.

What is the transfer rule again. Can you transfer banked points? They are under two memberships.

Nope. You can bank transferred points, but you cannot transfer banked points. And you cannot borrow transferred points either.

For a single owner of multiple contracts they will at times transfer banked or borrowed points on a case by case basis as well as multiple in a year. Generally it's only to complete a single night or for the options where the points have to be in one account like a cruise. The best option is almost always to book separate and link them.
