Lyphoma

Dh went for a CAT scan on Monday because he may need a hip replacement. The orthopedist called on Wed. and said he needs to go to his primary Dr. and get tests done because they are concerned it might be lyphoma. We were prepared to hear he needed his hip replaced But not this!!!!!! He got blood work done yesterday and now we just wait.Sorry to bring this here but you are all so easy to talk to I lost my mom when I was 10 and my mind is going crazy thinking about the bad.We have a 10 and 7 year old.

Oh no! You are in my thoughts that this is all "nothing." In the meantime, until the test results come back it might help to know that regardless, there is nothing you can do about the good or the bad - you'll just deal. Try and remind yourself not to borrow trouble.

Also, you may want to talk to your primary about anti anxiety medication.

All the best.

Another Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. Before your mind carries you too far into despair; while it is not the road any of us would choose...the good news is, many of us have been there And are here to assure others just facing the disease.

Another Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor here. November was my 5 year mark.

*hugs* My thoughts are with you. As the pp mentioned, I think the best mindset you can get into for yourselves is to just understand that you can't control the outcome of the tests, just know that you'll do whatever you need to going forward to beat it.

And while every case is different, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

Prayers from another Long Islander.

I am sure the wait is gong to be hard over the week end.

Try to take your mind off things and enjoy your family and the snow.

There are lots of great hospitals here to get good care if need be. I go to Stony Brook for my cancer care. I dont have lymphoma though they thought I did at one time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wishing you all the best. Keep us updated when you can. Hang in there! One day at a time!

Lots of variables...

Going through chemo/radiation for Hodgkins made me more tired than sick. Usually only 1-2 days during each treatment (every 2 weeks). Keep telling yourself...one day at a time. Educate yourself or you will go crazy with the "what ifs..."

Hang in there!

hugs and best wishes...
dont go making yourself crazy...it is so hard, but ....but it really does no good..for either one of you....if your forced to face it, worry about it them....I know easier said then done...

Interestingly...when my spouse was being tested by our primary, before the specialist..she got results back and said, she was so glad to see that the hip needed to be replaced...we were like what????
she then said, she thought there was a more sinister reason (not even gonna say that word, as a survivor myself, the disease infuriates me) anyway I digress...
she thought that it was not just a need for the hip replacement...so
MAYBE after the tests, you will hear the very same thing....ya just dont know...
But know this....so many survivors out there ....its not always easy but it is Doable...
And post total hip replacement.....making strides each and every day...
Again, wishing the Best results ...hang in there,,,,your in our thoughts......
