Dessert Party question

Does anyone know when the wishes Dessert Party Reservations open up and would you reccomend it.
Is the food good? Thank you

Reservations for Feb are open, but probably most spots are already taken. March isn't open yet.

We have done the Dessert Party twice, and loved it. The main reason I did it was because my DH hated the waiting and packed crowds of the fireworks, so I thought it would be nice to have a place to sit and relax while enjoying them. We had a reserved table right up front twice (I have heard that the sooner you reserve the better the table, but have no idea how true that is). We were able to enjoy the fireworks from our table or from the railing up front. I did not find it crowded, and would do it again in a heartbeat. The food at the WDP is just desserts, but there are a ton of them, including drinks. I wouldn't recommend eating a big dinner with dessert before you go! I'm sure there are threads/links to pics of all the dessert options if you search for it.
If you enjoy the fireworks and like desserts, in my opinion it is totally worth it!!

So about 2 months ago i tried to book the Dessert Party for May 9th. The res agent says....oh i'm sorry that can't be book until 30 days out!! So I mark it in my calender to call that morning...Yep you guessed it...I called 30 days out and of course all booked!!! Grrrrrrrr!! Oh what's that you say...Oh it opened up a week ago???? hmmmmmm...maybe the res agents should be trained to know when they open??? I am sooo disappointed, this was the number 1 thing on my list this time!!!! I have never seen wishes and have wanted to for over 10 years...If anyone has reservations for the week of May 6th...I will gladly take them....only 2 in my party!!

The GREAT news is you don't need a dessert party ressie to view wishes, so on May 9, scout out a spot and see the show, free of charge.

I'm so sorry the agent misinformed you on when to call back. It sounds like a total misunderstanding. They've been scheduling for the dessert party, approx 30 days out from the first of each month, not 30 days from the day you were interested in....that's why ressie's opened a week ago. Keep trying, maybe someone will cancel. Good luck

If I am understanding this correctly, does it mean that if we wanted to attend the dessert party on August 2 then our ADR window would open on July 1?

Nothing is in stone. Recently, the dates have been opening at the beginning of each month for the next month. So technically yes, at the beginning of July, August should open...but that is just approximate.... like I said nothing is definite concerning the dessert party. It used to be approximately 60 days out, now it seems they moved to 30 days out. (for ex. I made my party ressie for Nov in Sept last year, so they do periodically change it up) ....I'm waiting for June, but am still diligently checking daily, since it's 3 weeks away from then, and I'm not sure if they will give us a curve ball since that is the start of the summer months.... and I don't want to miss out.... good luck.

Who knows how Disney figures it all out. They just opened up the booking window for June today!!! Only a short time after opening for May!!!

I saw some pictures in another thread and I wondering if the view is really good. It looks like there's a large roof obscuring the night sky. Is it viewable from your seat or do you have to get up and go by the railings?

I've never done this before and I don't think I've ever been in the Tomorrowland Terrace, so I don't know the layout.

Everyone gets up and goes to the railing. I've done 3 of these dessert parties. We've always had a good view of the Castle from the Terrace.
People tried to bring their seats to the railing, but were stopped by CMs!! It really isn't an issue since there is a fairly long viewing area.

Looks like they will be shaking things up for scheduling..... June opened earlier than expected...... keep you eyes open for August opening earlier than you expect.

This happened to me when I was trying to get May 13th reservations for our honeymoon. I called every day for a month till someone said to call back in a couple of day on April 1st, reservations will open up then. I called on the morning of April 1st and still the reservation weren’t open, I didn’t think anything of it (I got back into my routine of calling every day) so I went to work and tried again on the 2nd. All Booked Up.

Turns out the reservations opened up at noon, after I called on the 1st. Yeah pretty disappointed, I wish I would have found Disboards earlier. If anyone is going to be cancelling some time between May 13th-17th 2013 and let me know you would make myself and my new wife very happy.

What is the name of the restaurant that hold the wishes dessert party? I would like to get that booked for our trip in December.

You might try putting in different numbers of people. We have had to do parties of 4 for 2 people after a search for 2 came up empty and got a spot with the party of 4. Who knows how they do it, but just keep watching and playing with it.
