Who swims in February?
We are heading to Disney in Feb. I know this month can be warm or cold in Florida and hopefully we have the warm week!! But I'm just wondering do people still swim when it is cooler since the pools are heated? Are there lifeguards there? Thanks

Of course you swim in Feb.!! We went end of Feb. last yr and it was hot and are doing the same this year. It's always warm in FL so the pools are fine. After all, a preview of summer is why this New Englander goes to FL in Feb.!!

A lot depends on the weather too. I was really hoping for a cool January trip, and the temps were in the low to mid 80's the whole time I was there! Lots of people swimming. That's why packing for winter trips is so hard - you have to be prepared for anything from below freezing to summertime!

Yes lifeguards are there. They were even watching over an empty Hippy Dippy Pool on Friday when it was 60 and drizzling!

Who swims in February? We Canadians do!
What they've got going on down there is leaps and bounds better than what we've got here right now.Counting down

On our February trip it was too chilly some days and perfectly fine on others. Just look at the weather right before you go and pack for everything!

I agree with some of the PPs. Pack for any eventuality but hope for the best. The lifeguards will be on duty. If it's cool, we've seen them bundled up in heavy jackets and gloves!
The last time we were there the end of Jan/early Feb, it was so cold that we didn't swim once. And were wearing our heavy jackets, gloves and hats (under our ponchos ). Other years it was quite warm and swimming was lovely.

I've been thinking about this too, I'd like to go to Typhoon Lagoon but I wasn't sure if the weather would be good for it. I kind of figured I'd bring our bathing suits and decide when we get there, I am so bad at determining what I need to wear for weather until I feel it.

it depends, one February trip the swimming was great except at night. The next February trip had overnight lows in the upper 30's and day time highs in the 50's...we only went into the hot tub on that trip!

Yes, Yes, and Yes!!! I have gone in Jan and Feb to the world. This time of year can be a hit or miss at the world. We swam both times. In the daytime you will be fine - the night gets a little chilly though. As long as you have a towel right when you come out of the pool - you should be fine! And yes lifeguards are there until their usual scheduled time to leave all year long...which i'm not sure about the exact time - maybe 9? - can anyone confirm this?
Have a great trip! -FantasiaMagic

We will be there the last week in February so I'm really HOPING that spring will start showing its face in Florida by then! But if not, my husband will swim no matter what! I need it to be pretty warm to get in the water though! Either way, I'm excited!
