This tool is wonderful! We put in all our information and the DxDP saved us money based on our reservations. It was great for figuring out an approximate amount of money we would need for tips. We put that money on gift cards and had a little left over for souvenirs. We used a Disney promotion and got a discount on the dining plan. It saved us several hundred dollars plus our meals were prepaid.

This is great! Not that we are going anytime soon (or are we......?), but it is fun to play! And I realize that if we were in AoA with the kitchenette, we would most likely be bringing snacks, breakfast, some lunches, and drinks. We'd be much more likely not to be ordering desserts, drinks, etc. A rough estimate shows that I could save $100. Without the plan and paying OOP for everything that comes with it, I would only save $10. I think the key is knowing exactly what you need/want and what you can and cannot live without.

Hey all, I just posted an updated version of the Dining Plan Calculator. Updates include Le Cellier new all day menu, some price updates, name change to Monsieur Paul, and some minor bug fixes.

No matter how I cut it - it really doesn't make sense for us to do the DDP. The idea of my 2 11 year olds needing an adult plan just does make sense. So OOP for us. This tool is great!

Just downloaded the most recent and was able to use
. My initial thoughts are still correct, it is about $200 cheaper for me to just pay out of pocket. Love this tool!!

I love this spreadsheet. The DDP is only cheaper for us if we eat dessert with every meal and it is only $40 cheaper. I am still debating if that will be too much food for us. I like desserts, but not with every meal.
