Just had to tell someone (and trust me, nobody in my day to day life circle really cares about this) ..... I just bought a new D7000
![]() I'm going to miss my D90 that has been so faithful but it is time to move on. I was going to list it over the last weekend but didn't like the idea of not having a camera for a while ![]() I have been eyeing out the new D7100 but decided against going with a brand new release. I just didn't feel the additional features it offers are all going to be of enough benefit to me for the extra outlay and I also prefer to let the first batch do its run in circulation so we shall see. Anyways, really really excited so thought I'd come to the one place where people would understand

Very nice! The D7000 has a lot of fans. Sounds like you evaluated what you need and found something that fits the bill. Perfect way to make a decision about gear.

Thanks William
Now the wait for it to arrive. There is only one delivery option for me: the quickest possible! Patience is not always my strong point so it should be here tomorrow

Congratulations, I think you will like the lowlight capability of the 16mp sensor.

) I wasn't looking to upgrade at all for quite some time, but knew about 6 months ago that whatever I went with next was going to have to have improved low light capabilities because that was something I've started to really enjoy learning Short story, with current rebate offers, it really wasn't going to cost me very much at all to sell off the D90 and buy a new D7000. The better sensor alone is worth the nominal upgrade cost to me, whereas the D7100 meant a bigger outlay but offered me extras which are at this stage, nice to have, but not nice enough to make me pay the additional for. I have a theory that a better camera will make me take better photos though, because it's a great motivator to get out and get practising, learning and experimenting more ![]() I think I will go to bed very early tonight to make tomorrow hurry up!

Congrats on the new purchase! The sensor in the D7000 is a great sensor for lowlight.

Congrats!
I bought the d90 about a year and half ago and have also been contemplating the d7000 as an upgrade. Just had major shoulder surgery though and cannot lift any camera so I guess I will sit here and ponder some more while I recuperate! Looking forward to seeing photos with your new camera! |

Wishing you a speedy recovery. I'm hoping the weather will be dry this weekend so I can get out with the camera. Indoors is fine, but I want options
