Being the pump and belt are already fixed you might be able to sell it to a kid in high school. Probably get more that scrap price for it. Some of them (i know there are getting to be fewer and fewer of them) like to work on cars and this may be a good project for them.

Agree with the time to sell it! When I bought our last van we had a similar situation. Car was worth about $3K and repairs were 1500-1800. Found someone that collects Grand Caravans that paid $2K for it.

I know, who collects caravans.

Anyway, we ended up much better off.

Even if you fix it now, I think there is a pretty good chance you'll need to put more into before that 5 year point. An easier decision since it is a third car.

I can't take credit for this (a friend of mine from FB posted it) but found it pretty funny:

The Vatican says that the Cardinals will pick the next Pope. If it's anything like how they pick QB's this will certainly be a disaster....

That stinks Norm. Keeping it depends on what condition the car is in and how much trouble you can 'see' down the road.
