Ok, at MK. Xmas decorations are still up. Ugh. I love Christmas, but holiday music on January 8th is a bit much. Please take it down!!

I heard over the next three days it is coming down. And FWIW, Little Christmas was yesterday and Serbian Christmas is today so there are many cultures still wrapping up the celebrations.

Yup, starts too early and lasts too long.... Same with Halloween...they run those holiday way to far and tie up many nights with hard ticketed shows...for me, week before and nothing after is enough....

The Christmas season is officially over next Sunday, "The Baptism of Our Lord."
That is the per the official Roman Catholic Church calendar. I agree it starts way too early though. And I TOTALLY agree about Halloween.

Do they leave them up this late every year? I'll be taking my mom in early January 2014 and it would be neat if she could see some of the decorations.

The decorations may still be up and music playing, but that's it. The Osborne lights ended on the 6th, the castle lights ended on the 5th. They are now in the process of taking everything down.

We stayed at the Contemporary one year in January(beginning) and watched out our window as a huge crane took the outdoor Christmas tree down, section by section. It was an awesome thing to witness.

Totally agree. I love the Christmas season and everything it represents but I was there in October and the stuff was out. My main point - why is Thanksgiving not recognized? *That's* what we should be focusing on at some point in our lives - what we have to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is trampled over in the haste from Halloween to Christmas. |
