Epcot at night - TT and Soarin FP?

In order to get a second day in at MK I am thinking of splitting our 3rd between AK in the am and Epcot in the PM. (We don't do the shows at AK or plan to watch the parade - DS can't sit still for that long!)

If we get to Epcot in the early afternoon - 2 or 3pm - is there still a chance of getting a FP for either test track or soarin?

EasyWDW crowd level predicts only a 3 and they are both recommended for the day if that makes a difference.

I know DS with enjoy these but DH won't wait 40+ mins for a ride.

If there is at least some chance, its a chance worth taking since they're not on our must-do list but we want to be there in the evening anyway to see Illuminations.
