Early Entry to IOP and One Other Question - The DIS Discussion Forums

We are staying at the HRH. Is the early entry into the Islands of Adventure worth doing? I think they normally open at 9 and will let guests in at 8. I read somewhere where they let people without the early entry in up to an hour early and wasn't sure how everything worked.

Also, does Universal Studios open early also for hotel guests? I did not see it listed as a perk.

We've only WDW and are not familiar with the perks at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

Yes, it is very worthwhile to do at least one day. They let the early admission people in about 15 minutes early and then the GP gets let in about 15 minutes early from normal admission time.

The Studios isn't opening early at this time.

Thanks, I think I understand what you are saying. Resort guests get in at 7:45 if IOA opens at 9:00 and regular guests get in at 8:45.

Exactly. So be there at least half an hour earlier than your scheduled opening time.

The reason for this, I think, is because it takes some time to walk all the way to the back of the park to the Wizarding World.

We will be going from the HRH and will follow the crowd as I imagine everyone will be doing the same thing. We will either walk or take the water taxi there.

You can walk, it is not far.

OP, you can use the short cut if you arrive after it opens.

go thru the main area which is called Port of Entry.
turn to the right at the end of this walk area.

when you see the restaurant, Green Eggs and Ham, turn to the left and go behind and around the path.
just follow the path as it curves to the right slightly.

you will come out in the main walk way where the rest of the guests are walking.

turn to your left and cross over the bridge on this main walk area.

don't laugh but it will save you all of 3 minutes by using the shortcut...

is this short cut not available to early entry folks?
I bet that 3 minutes can make all the difference in getting to the first Ollivander's show

anyone can use this 'shortcut'.

early entry time, during the day, leaving the park, any time.........

the ones that do use this shortcut have read about it on message boards or found it by accident.

i used it all the time before parry hotter was even thought of......
