What is your plan for race morning (breakfast, getting to the corrals, etc?)

What is your plan for getting to the race Saturday or Sunday?

I am staying at the Dolphin. I plan to get up about 3 grab my things and catch the 3:30 bus. Once I get to the staging area I am going see if there are any characters and then head to the corrals. I plan to bring a blanket with me to sit on towards the front of my corral. Around 4:30 I am going to eat my breakfast (probably peanut butter on a half bagel and a banana). Then a little after 5 I am going to take my last potty break. Then the corrals will start moving and it will begin!

I am also staying at the Dolphin. I hope the staff is aware of what is going on this year - last year the ones I had approached seemed a little (to say the least) oblivious to the fact that a marathon was taking place!
I eat breakfast BEFORE I get on that bus mainly because I hit the bathrooms almost constantly for an hour afterwards. I normally eat a bran muffin, a bananna and a small coffee. I would get up at around 2am (yea it sucks) eat this stuff and leave the room around 3am to catch whatever bus.
I am meeting some others there...all of whom are in different corrals....
I will probably visit the pop about 5 times before the race starts because I am also one of those annoying people that (when I get nervous) I have to go ALL the time.
On that note...this race could one of those where I don't stop at all during the race (I have had that happen and thats nice) or it could be one where I stop at EVERY SINGLE pop - which really sucks.
But thats the plan.

What is awesome about the Dolphin (aside from its location) is that they have that 24hour Pickaboo resturant open. So if you decide you want oatmeal or toast or something at 1am you can go in there and get it. Its really handy for situations like this. In case at 2am I decide I really don't want a bananna and bran muffin.

As Info

All Disney resorts will have either a partial opening of their food court OR the fast food counter for those without a food court open at 0200 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Expect fruits, dry breads and drink to be available. As a planner type, I always purchased the stable portion of my breakfast the day before and kept in the room when we stayed prior to being DVC. That was just in case they failed to open or did not have what I wanted.

With regard to employees and CM not knowing many details.... they won't until the last minute. The knowledge model is one where the folks on the front line know as much as possible about today but are not told about much in the future until a need to know. It helps make them experts on what the majority of the questions will focus on.

I am doing a Garden Grocer order for my breakfast items so I can grab them and go. They even have protein smoothies for afterwards. Oh, and wine!

The last time I was there in 07, yes. Since joining DVC, we purchase breakfast goods for the entire trip and eat in the villa.

For me, Saturday will be a leisurely 3 course breakfast in the Grand Villa enjoying the start of the sound and lights from the Start line area at around 0200. I just lost the folks staying in our living room area so I will have the downstairs all to myself, or at least until some of the tribe awaken. Breakfast will consist of a nice roasted Mickey coffee served piping hot along with a nice and toasty bagel topped with a small dollop of light strawberry cream cheese. This will be followed by a bowl of mixed fruit and completed with a glass of fresh squeezed OJ. As entertainment, we will see the late night crew of the Weather Channel regaling us with the latest weather on the west coast. Intermixed with their regales will be a 2 minute snippet of weather for the attractions section of the greater Orlando area.

Immediately following the coffee and bread, we will warm the shower and follow the normal wake up procedures in an effort to get the body up and ready. Yes we shower so we can answer YES! when asked, “OK, is everyone neat and pretty?” We can get on with the show.

After assuring all who are heading for the start are up and ready, we leave our beautifully appointed villa and into our awaiting coach for the brief ride to the land of Epcot Center. It is cruel as we can see the eventual start line and can hear the sounds of the staging area. However, with two new runners and one spectator, we are destined to ride in our luxury coach to the race. Once at the race, we will head to our secret, seldom used PoP area and then head into the Staging area proper to meet up with old friends.

Rinse and repeat then do again on Sunday

Ok, thanks. Yeah I am going to buy what I need the day before and keep it in my little fridge (studio). But it's good to know that Goods to Go (ha) may be open those mornings if needed.

First, I'd like to point out that your description of breakfast was wonderful. Pretty sure I'm hungry now.. and I already had my first meal of the day.

Sounds like an awesome plan.. Best of Luck to You & your tribe, coach!

My plan is to get up at 2:30am and try to be at the bus stop no later than 3:30am. With three of us marathoners sharing a room, we need a little more time to get ready. I plan to buy one of the little pre-packaged race day breakfasts the night before. I did that for the Princess and it was nice. If I recall it head a banana, bagel, peanut butter, water, and maybe a granola bar. I'll start eating some of it as I get ready then take the rest on the bus with me to eat on the bus or once we get to the staging area. Follow the slow march to the starting line. Eat, dance, finish stretching (although I plan to do most of it in the room since I'll have more space).

0145/0200-up and dressed
0230-leave FW in motorhome and drive to EPCOT parking lot
0250-park motorhome, jacks down and bedroom slide out

0300 to 0500/0530-eat something, watch TV, put on race clothing, go to event area and walk around then back to motorhome for more relaxing/grazing, use bathrooms on board then leave for the start of the races

After race-back to motorhome, shower, dress, eat again, relax at bit, visit parks then back to FW

So glad to hear some of the food court will be open. I was worried about that. I have a strange pre-long run breakfast that has actually worked for my weak stomach. I eat a small thing of Kraft Easy Mac before a long run. The only problem is I couldn't get a guarantee of a microwave in my room at Contemporary. I was told they may be able to accomodate but couldn't put the request in ahead of time. I know it's a weird breakfast, but it's worked and I found it by sheer luck. I've eaten it every single day before a long run and it's paid off nicely during training. I aint rocking the boat now!

I plan to get up around 3am and eat my pre-race breakfast, get ready and visit the potty before leaving my room. I had planned on catching the monorail to the starting line unless someone can tell me if that's a bad idea. In that case, I'd catch the bus.

My pre-race has consisted of a peanut butter sandwich usually, sometimes a Poptart and a peanut butter sandwich.

But by about mile 10 of my 20-miler, I was starving!

So this is my plan:

Wake up, eat Poptart.
Shower, get ready
Eat peanut butter sandwich on bus (2 hours before race, around 3:30-3:45 a.m.)
Get to staging area/walk to corrals
Eat pack of sport beans around 5:25 or so
