Hi everyone! I know they usually put out free dining but I've read that 2013 will not have free dining? I hope this isn't true

*Rumor* has it - there will be Free Dining - but......

No Free Dining at Values.
Free Quick Service Dining at Mods and Deluxes.

I have a free dining PIN code - so I guess there is still some hope it might turn into a general public offer

I hope they do offer free dining this year as we are going on our 1st trip ever and was hoping for free dining!

Are you a DVC member or renting thru Disney? Heard that DVC members are not eligible for FD. Planning on going in Oct '13.

Early rumors were there might not be free dining in 2013. Disney has threatened this before but free dining came back. I heard there still will be free dining in 2013 most probably.

What sucks is that there is just no way of knowing right now. The fact that the current PINs only have FD thru March but RO thru Sept might be telling, but who knows. Late Aug has always been FD in the past few years, and that is when I am looking to go, but with all the ambiguity, I won't book until the offers come out(if I can hang on that long...be strong..). I will likely go either way, but it does make a difference in what I will book -- if no FD at values and QS at mods, as rumored, then it will really only be a difference of less than $200 to upgrade to mod from Pop. I wouldn't cry lol. If free QSDP is offered at values, I'll do that. And if no FD at all, well then...hope DD likes Ramen lol

personally, I would hate QS for free dining- we don't like the majority of the QS places and to stay deluxe and only get QS would be stinky. I mean of course it is better then nothing- but we would be upgrading for sure- although it means nothing to us as we are going the end of April and there is no chance we will get any kind of free dining.

DVC points reservations are not eligible for free dining because the room is not full price. If you rent points and pay for the dining plan, you could still be ahead.

The bounceback from last summer included free dining at the deluxes, (regular not QS) so it is possible that the public offer will be the same. I am hoping for a discount of any kind for early August.

I am worried also about the rumor that FD might only be QS at Mods and Deluxe Resorts. I'm sure if this does come to pass Disney will be counting on most guests upgradeing to the regular DP, so a win win for them. They will fill the resorts @ rack rate and profit from guests upgradeing the DP
