Let the fun begin!!!!!
So MIL was over babysitting tonight so we could run out and get 50 cent wings and $1 drafts at our favorite local bar. I had Grizzly drop me off at home before he ran out to get a part for his car, so it was just me and MIL. She started telling me about her list of things to do before she leaves and what she has already done. I have never met anyone who worries as much as she does. The other day Grizzly called the scooter rental place just to double check the reservation for her and I had him ask about insurance for the scooter. We are going through Randy's something or other, and Randy said that in the state of Florida there is no such thing as scooter insurance and that any other company that offers it is just padding their pockets. He reassured Grizzly that he has never had a scooter returned damaged and has never had one stolen. Of course MIL flips out. Today she told me she called both her home owners insurance and her auto insurance to see if the rental scooter would be covered. She is already fretting that the scooter will be stolen. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't get on any ride so she can stand and watch the darn scooter. Then she starts going off about her favorite topic, airport security. On her list of things to do was purchase a money belt so that she can keep her cash on her because "people swipe purses and money ALL THE TIME" from airport security. All I'm thinking is yeah, I'm sure people would choose that opportunity to steal when there are a bazillion security guards around, cameras everywhere, and oh the most important thing, NO WHERE TO RUN. So she's panicking because she has to go get wanded down because of her knee replacements and is not allowed to get her bags while they hold her to the side for "UP TO 30 MINUTES" before someone will come and wand her. I told her I would just take her wallet and cash through for her so she wouldn't have to worry about it. She also said my favorite line of all "This is my last trip, I told FIL, I'm not dealing with this airport security EVER again". All I could think was GREAT! Then you won't have to come with me again. I played nice and assured her that the 10 minutes of the trip that is was going to take to get through security was not worth fretting about. She will fret of course, but I think I did my job. Silly lady. I can't wait to see if she'll leave the scooter.

Less than 13 hours until we leave for the airport. Perhaps I should start packing. I have begun the gathering process, but haven't put anything into a bag yet. Throughout this week I have become less worried about stressed out MIL and more concerned about Grizzly's reaction to stressed out MIL. He gets snippy with her which I hate. She's 60 something years old, there's no sense in telling her not to worry or complain, it's what she does. The best line of defense is to just listen, quietly think she's crazy and carry on. He instead raises his voice with her and gets very short and that drives me nuts because I don't like yelling.
I had a brilliant idea yesterday but it will probably be too late to make it work. My son turns 3 on Saturday, the day we leave. Our flight is at 1pm, so there is plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast. In the off chance that he may not still hate the characters I thought it would be awesome to go to Chef Mickey's before we leave as a birthday breakfast. Unfortunately they have no reservations at any time on Saturday. I'll check everyday just in case something pops up. Chances are Mickey will scare him anyways. In the meantime I have have moved out Kona Cafe breakfast to Saturday so we don't have to deal with trying to rush off for park opening. MIL is not a morning person, so she will appreciate not having to make a 7:30 breakfast. Time to fold laundry and pack.

You are probably in bed now, however if you are like me, you may be lying there mentally checking everything! But have a wonderful plane ride. Here's hoping the security line goes smooth & hassle free! Have fun. I hope Tigger's mouth is much better. Debbie

![]() So this is as far as we've gotten. Well at least me. The beasty has a fever and has zero energy. He's been doing better since the tylenol has kicked in, but who knows what will happen. He was too sick on the plane to even play with the ipad, he just layed there staring off into space. Poor beast. Full update to come later this evening. Ps. Have not even wanted to kill mil once yet!

Day 1!
Well we made it. I've been with my MIL for over 15 hours straight and haven't wanted to strangle her or anything. This trip might be okay. Maybe. Well, I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. Our travel was smooth. The only hiccup we currently have is a rather ill Tigger. I knew something was up when I gave him the ipad on the plane and he watched half an episode of Doc McStuffins and then said he was done. Then he proceeded to lie on me and stare off into space the remainder of the flight. I gave him some tylenol as soon as I got access to my check through, and when I took his temp back at the hotel it was 99.8, so there is definitely a little bug there. How big is yet to be determined but there are some good signs. 1. He had enough energy this afternoon to request to go swimming (we went swimming in the giant tub together) 2. He is still eating, albeit a little, he is still eating so that's a good sign. Hopefully he'll wake up tomorrow and be a new man. So on our way to AKL we made it to Disney property and ran into construction cones and then were forced to turn left or right when we really wanted straight. Hmmm....seems we had forgotten it was marathon weekend and the marathoners were still marathoning around 12:00. So we chose right, immediately got lost, but decided instead of trying to find our way back to the hotel we would just head to downtown disney for an Earl of Sandwich Sandwich. I think everybody else in all of Disney had this same plan. We arrived at downtown at 12:04, drove for quite some time before finding a spot. I opted to stay in the car because Tigger had fallen asleep, while MIL and Grizzly went and got sandwiches. Grizzly reports that the line was actually outside and around the corner of EOS. What is even more crazy is that Grizzly stood in this humungous line twice!! Once for his sandwich and then once again for mine because he wanted mine to be hot. What a crazy sweetie. He totally would have gotten a cold sandwich if I had been the one to go. MIL earned bonus points by claiming that it was the best sandwich she had ever had. We didn't even really say much about it before hand, only that we liked them. So we'll give MIL 20 points for liking EOS, I'll take them away as she gets on my nerves. Now at this point MIL is already totally impressed with everything she has seen. She is in awe of how well the grounds are maintained, and can't believe the size of the place. She also thinks our hotel room is amazing (she's smitten with the marble counters), and she also liked the Safari Amber beer so now she's up to 25 points. Tigger and I lounged in the room, took a bath and watched the Duffy channel (a never ending loop of classic Mickey cartoons). He's feeling lousy and didn't even want to play the hide the pillow game. At 5:10 we all left, even Tigger and went over to Jiko for dinner. MIL's treat. That place was fabulous. I thought the food was delicious (sorry no pictures), but my favorite favorite part was the seagull lights all over the ceiling and walls. I wanted to take all of them. They were so cool. Tigger lasted through the appetizer course, then I pulled his chair next to mine and he laid down and fell asleep with his head on my lap. This marks the first time he has EVER fallen asleep anywhere other than his bed, his car seat or his stroller. This kid has never fallen asleep with his head in my lap before. Oh wait, there was about 20 minutes on the plane this morning. I feel bad for him, hope he gets better soon. So tomorrow we have EPCOT if Tigger is good. If not I will send MIL and Grizzly to HS since there is not much there for Tigger anyways. One more note about Jiko, we got the peppermint Creme Brulee and it was delicious, except we each got one, and we had enough for 6 people. I'm quite full at the moment! I know there were quite a few of you who said you were following along, so if there is something that you care about let me know and I'll be sure to add that in with more details. Oh, our room was ready when we arrived around 1:30. I'll also be adding more pictures, and I apologize for their large size, but I can't shrink them until I get to a computer, my phone and ipad just can't seem to do it. They don't look bad on the DIS ap though, but for those on a computer...so sorry!

Yay! Off to a pretty good start. I hope your lil guy feels better tomorrow, and, as a MIL, I'm glad your MIL hasn't Pd you off yet. We arrive tomorrow. She can come drink with me! (or you can)
