Nate: "Ehh, it's not bad. Chair companies should start advertising it." He deepened his voice, to sound like someone on an infomercial, "Counter-chairs, never sit on a boring old chair again. Only $19.99. Plus shipping and handling." After the water boils, Nate finishes his noodles, pours himself a glass of soda, and sits in the seat next to Alex. "So, how was your free period?"

Margo: "Yeah, thanks Daniel." She makes her way to the kitchen, where she sees a group has already gathered. "Hi, everyone."

Alex: Alex laughs at him and smiles at Margo,"Hey Mar!" She turns to Nate and taps her chin,"Well I listened to music and fixed my hair. Kind of boring but maybe I'll make up for it later by doing something fun. How about yours?" She asked curiously. She saw River walk in and waved,"Hey River!" She turned back to Nate showing him he had her attention now.

Nate: "A few of us walked to the woods over in that direction." He nodded his head to indicate behind the school. "Were planning on going to the beach soon, you should come with."

Alex: Alex smiled wider at the idea of going tot he beach,"That sounds like a lot of fun, I've never been to the beach before! I'd love to go if it's alright with everyone else." She drank some more of her water then quickly put it in the dishwasher and sat back down next to Nate.

I've never gone to places where there are beaches, I always ran away to places where beaches were too far to go." Margo: "Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm ready to show my powers yet. I guess I'll have to get it over sometime, though."

Nate: Alex's encouragement had actually made Nate feel much better. "Yeah, I'm not sure why I'm nervous. Here, everyone has powers so were all going through the same type of stuff. It will be interesting to see everyone's powers."

Margo: "You're right, except mine's definitely not the coolest. Everyone's are going to be pretty awesome to see." Despite Ales's reassurance, Margo still felt a biting nervousness about showing others her powers. She hoped it would pass by gym class, so she could actually enjoy everything.

She found some spaghetti and started to boil a pot of water. While she waited for the water to finish she noticed that she kept looking over at Daniel she just couldn't help it, she wondered I anyone else noticed.

Max: Max nodded in River's direction. She seemed to be okay now, and that made her feel better.

Daniel: As Daniel waited for the pizza to cook, he kept noticing River glancing at him. He didn't notice every time, but he smiled at her when he didd notice.

Daniel: "I don't think anyone would mind. In fact, we should try to get a lot of us to go. The more the merrier. It would be fun." He nodded in agreement with Nate. "People should go to the beach at least once in their lives in my opinion."

Daniel: Daniel shrugged. "I just figured, you know, since it's the first day and this is a school for powered people then we'd use our powers in gym class." He didn't really know what to say about what Alex had said, so he said nothing.

Max: Max frowned slightly. She didn't want to show off her powers. It meant she would have to be really careful when she tried to sneak out at night. If the wrong person saw her when she was disguised........they would know it was her. And then questions would be asked. Questions that she never wanted asked.

Daniel: "I think we'll all be okay. And you're right Nate, everyone here knows what it's like. And most of you've probably already seen my powers, but they aren't that cool compared to what others can do."

Daniel: Daniel was glad everyone was feeling a little less nervous about gym class. He jumped sllightly as the timer on the oven went off. He pulled his pizza out, set the tray down, and closed and turned off the oven. It was pre-sliced, so he got out a plate and put a couple of slices on it.

Daniel: Daniel smiled back at her and kept eating, thinking. After a few moments, he said, "This place is pretty great, don't you think? Our own private island, interesting classes, not having to hide our powers, friends........" He glanced at River quickly and looked away, a little embarressed. He had no idea what was going on with himself today. Everything he'd done today had felt right, but he knew he wouldn't have done any of it if he'd been at any other school.
