I just wanted to add my two cents about LDR, it really can work. I live in CT and DF lives in Germany. We make it work and it really isn't that hard. We both feel that it is worth it. Good luck!

Aww, I just thought I'd add my happy long distance tale - well not really mine but my dear friend. She met a guy in France while in college (he actually was from Sweden) and six long distance years later FINALLY got married. And happily live here in Michigan today.

Just now my problem is she is determined for me to find a guy so her husband can have a best friend.

I would never rule anyone out due to distance. I agree that sometimes you just click with someone & if both of you are determined to make it work, there is always a way.

Oh, I had that experience once (14 day trip which was awesome). But since it was her first time I tried to show her everything, that includes things that I would skip going solo.

I assume I just have to give it a try going solo once, without feeling like a touring guide.

I like my solo trips more & more. No one making faces, arguing about restaurants or disbelieving transportation routes! I'm going for a conference w/ big gaps mid-day ( not paying extra for lunch programs). Made some lunch ADRs and looked @ Epcot entertainment schedule & penciled-in some light work-outs. No one to dispute it or fight about it. WONDERFUL!
