A couple of thoughts for us darker side of disney fans...
There should be a nightmare before Christmas ride and meet and greet/ pic opportunity's with the Disney villains or at least more anyway. Some of us love the darker side of Disney and the parks should appeal to all things Disney.

They do have the Haunted Mansion Holiday at DL. It does the who Nightmare Before Xmas theme, and they have a meet and greet with Jack and Sully. You would love it.

I wish there was meet and greets for all the villans. That sounds great at DL. Do they do that all year or just at Halloween time?

The Halloween parties at WDW have the Villains Mix and Mingle where the villains all perform in a show and then come down and take pictures in very short meet and greets.
Some villians (Gaston and Lotso for starters) do their own M&Gs throughout the party.

Can someone tell me why they only change up the haunted mansion in the land? Why not the world too?!

Supposedly because Land gets more locals visiting than World. World is seen as more of a destination. Therefore they figure that people who visit Land visit more often, they don't mind the ride between down for a couple weeks to set up whereas at World people would see that as a major issue since they likely won't be returning anytime soon.

The focus in the late 90's and early 2000's at Disneyland was to help boost those local and semi local repeat visitors. There was not the same sense of having to bring in the repeat Central Florida crowd in the late 90's/early 2000's. Heck, even back then DisneyWorld had nearly 50,000 on site workers... Great chance that if someone in your family didn't work for the mouse that you had a close friend who did. Southern California has WAAAY more outsiders and DLR has WAAAY less workers. Thus it was a way to help get more from that local population. No need nor would their be much gain at WDW and why upset the once a generation visitors? Not worth it since the gain is little. |

Because they shut down the Mansion for a total of 4 weeks - 2 to apply the overlay and 2 to remove it. With Disneyland having many more local visitors, it's less of an issue there.

When we were there the beginning of Oct., Jack and Sally had a big Meet and Greet in front of the AMC theaters in DTD West Side.

Yeah, I'd love to see a permanent NBC presence in the parks. They could incorporate the other holiday lands from the movie to keep it relevant year-round if they were worried about that.
