If there is one place I know I can count on, is you guys! a girlfriend of mine, is going in for some major surgery, and I want to make her a Disney get well/entertainment basket. I will give you a bit of a background story.
This amazing girl is in her mid 20's and was diagnosed with cancer just 2 years ago. A cancer on her foot. It was a pretty aggressive cancer so it was it was decided to give her the best chance of survival would be to remove her foot. They went ahead and did that and her left foot and ankle were amputated. She did well for 2 years, but they recently found out that the cancer has come back, and is now in her lungs. She is going in for surgery on Jan 3rd. This women is the apple of my eye. I have some pretty serious injuries myself, ones that have required 20+ operations, 2 of which that nearly caused me to not come back to this world. Despite that, I feel I have nothing to complain about when I look at this gal. Smiles all around, she is always positive and makes light of things. She LOVES Disney, specifically Beauty and the Beast. I would like to make her a package for after surgery that she can enjoy and smile using, but I need assistance because my creativity=zero. I have access to a cricut machine and a ladybug. I have beads, I have access to almost every craft type equipment you can thing of, I just need your creativity and inspiration please! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this ladies/gents

hmmmm she is going to need bedrest so something she can do in bed - I love coloring books - maybe do mapcolors or pencils instead of colors (more grown up or markers)
puzzles if she has access to a bedtable to work them on - I'm thinking the 500 or lower piece ones - look at the size of the puzzle & make sure it will fit on the table books would be nice (used is fine for most people)

I have seen the Mickey chapsticks at the Dollar stores.
Mickey cheese heads (Sarrento makes, I think) we usually find in WalMart, who also had Mickey sticker books & coloring books. Maybe slippers or fleece pjs, maybe on after Christmas clearance. You could get a sweatshirt/pants & cut a design with the Cricut out of freezer paper, iron it to the sweats & spray with bleach & water to make a bleach design on the sweats. Blanket I will keep thinking |
