shipping pkg and online check in

Has anyone done on-line check- in when they have mailed a pkg ahead of time?

I mailed a couple of gifts to my adult children that are arriving before DH & I. I called to advise the resort to allow them to ck in without us there. My concern is if I check-in online, then my adult kids go to the desk to check-in when they arrive, will anyone bother to check to see if there is a pkg for them? I was hoping to have this as a surprise to them, but I suppose I could tell them to ask when the arrive if there is a package for them.

Just wondering if anyone has had this. Will the CM still check for any packages at arrival if check-in was done on line? Thanks for any help. And sorry it sounds so confusing.

Online check in is exactly the same as in person except, in theory, they have pre-assembled your welcome packet and printed your room cards. It is an attempt to speed up check in.

I don't know if the CM's have any notation on your reservation that you have a delivered package waiting. Best to call the resort and ask given your situation.

We have shipped packages to the resorts but regardless of whether we did online check-in or in person check-in, we were only notified once out of all the times we have sent. We had to go and check if they arrived on our own at the resorts. It may be a good idea to let them know to expect a package sometime after arrival. If you have tracking you can see if it arrived. You can have a message left on the room phone as well.

Thank you all. Since our kids will be in Orlando before we even leave our house for the airport, I think I will call the resort that day to "remind" the cm's there is a package waiting for our kids. I put our the reservation # on the package, so hopefully, it won't be a problem.

Calling the resort actually gets you to a inbound call center. Make sure that the reservation gets properly noted.

just thought I'd check in and say how it went, in case anyone else is wondering.

I shipped 4 pkg's down. 2 different address, but 3 different recipients.

1)Polynesian
2) 2 to SSR

We shipped through UPS. The guests staying at SSR were not informed when they checked in that they had pkg. But, when they asked they were immediately given them. I followed all the instructions. The guest name & confirmation # (except on the Poly one because I was trying to surprise them & they had made their own ressies, so i didn't know the conf. #), arrival date, and the hotel address of course. I was a little disappointed the guests weren't given the packages with their key to the room. Those pkgs were for my adult children & DDBF. I just called my DD & told her & her BF to go ask the front desk if there are pkgs. for them. It all worked out well. I didn't bother to call the desks prior to the arrivals.
